also worth mentioning its not bad on all games but games like overwatch , monster hunter etc.. that seem to be very sensitive to your internet connection have problems
Can also try redownloading the ethernet driver from your motherboard support page
is there something i should be looking out for within the speedtest ?
:tada: Congrats @heavy tusk, you levelled up to 1! :tada:
send the screenshot of the results of the speedtest here and i'll let you know if something seems off, make sure to blur/censor out your IP address
is your ethernet directly connected to your PC from your router?
the router is downstairs so a ethernet is connected to the router and then leads into a tp link switch and then into my pc as other people also want to use ethernet upstairs so we though it would be easiest
your ping spikes are horrendous and it's probably causing you to get kicked from the games mentioned
how would one go about fixing this
how far are you from the switch and how far is the switch from the router
switch is in my room and the router is directy below me downstairs so the cable goes outside then inside to my room
:tada: Congrats @heavy tusk, you levelled up to 2! :tada:
so it does go a bit of distance
would running a direct cable from the router to the pc fix this or is the distance the problem
honestly it could just be an isuse with your internet connection in general - on wi-fi the ping seems abnormally high aswell
Doing a speed test on my phone sending results now
This is from basically next to the Wi-Fi box
And I mean it looks even worse on this
yeah honestly looks like a problem with your internet connection - seems like high ping spikes are the issue primarily
But I also don’t understand how I only get kicked off when using the Ethernet then
:tada: Congrats @heavy tusk, you levelled up to 3! :tada:
high ping spikes
Wi-Fi looks just as bad if not worse though no?
are your motherboard ethernet drivers up to date
i use gigabyte control center so they should be but i also redownloaded the latest one here and it still happens
unless i downloaded the wrong one?
i also see people complaining about realtek alot
these are the righ ones yes?
Yep
downloaded the latest one restarted my pc and im doing a bit of testing now
nope sadly still happening
fixed it im pretty sure 🤞
