it's probably slow and clunky because you're using a HDD (Hard Disk Drive) rather than an SSD (Solid State Drive)
SSDs are newer and faster, you could probably make your system feel like new by just giving a good dust and installing an SSD

depending on your motherboard (which you can find by searching in your taskbar for "system information" and opening it, it's under 'BaseBoard') you have two choices.
M.2 NVMe SSD: Fastest type of storage, easiest to install, just one screw and it's installed, you'll just need to install windows onto it
SATA SSD: Connects the same way your HDD does, slower than M.2 NVMe SSDs usually, but nowhere near as slow as HDDs, it's got 2-4 screws to install usually and two connectors, one to the power supply and one to the motherboard (SATA data cable and a SATA power cable)
if you're unsure of if your motherboard can support M.2 SSDs just let me know what it says in system information and i'll be able to help you out

ssd is a no brainer though

#

i'd recommend an m.2 nvme ssd as your motherboard supports them and they're really fast

#

also they're like 1 screw to install
