I bought my pc a couple of months ago, and i want to add some more storage, but I'm not sure how to do so. Ive searched up videos on YouTube as I have no clue what I'm doing. I've seen a lot of videos about m.2 ssds, but I don't want ti go through with buying it in fear that it's not what I need to add storage for my pc

what type of storage do you have? you can find it by going into task manager, then clicking performance and clicking on your storage drives and screenshotting it (win+shift+s)

#

then you can just paste it here

do you remember purchasing more storage with your computer?

nope, I don't think I purchased any upgrades or anything extra when I bought it

alright, that's an m.2, can you tell me what motherboard you have, you can find it by going into system information (search it in taskbar) and then looking at "BaseBoard"

alright so your current drive as i said before is an M.2 and your motherboard only supports one M.2 at a time (which is being taken up by your current drive)

your next best option is a SATA SSD which connects to SATA power (a power connector from the PSU) and a SATA data cable which connects to the motherboard

it can be mounted in various areas around your case with a few screws (some cases have screwless designs but it varies)

there are tutorials on youtube which show you how to install a SATA SSD

#

so you were right in checking to see if you had the space for an M.2
