what uni work are you doing

stone spindle
#

Engineering simulation based, lots of moiving compoonents a high core cpu and good ram normally speeds this up

#

New gpus are coming next month like 5070 5080 so that’s something to consider

stone spindle
#

wont they sell out within like 2seconds, wont i have to wait ages if i want one from cyberpower?

keen jackal
#

Cyberpower get stock at launch and don't really have the same problems with scalpers and etc because they're only available online in systems (though if you're an existing customer you can contact them to buy parts, but builds will be prioritised if there's short stock)

stone spindle
#

so realistically i should be fine if i consider buying a week within release ?

hasty rapids
#

yes

stone spindle
#

ah right okay, what about like cpu any recommendation thats not overkill but also not ass ?

smoky stream
#

Yeah. Even if you wait a bit and they go on pre order for next stock it wouldn’t be too much waiting

#

9800x3d is great for gaming but average to kinda good as a productivity gpu

#

Alternatively 9900x/9950x but you would get a bit less gaming performance

hasty rapids
stone spindle
#

looking more at like 12 cores min

hasty rapids
#

9900x is a good idea then

stone spindle
#

and thats ryzen correct

smoky stream
#

Yeah. Am5 too so upgrading will be much more open

hasty rapids
stone spindle
#

yeah what about mobo obviously want the newest socket and DDR5

smoky stream
#

Well thats am5

stone spindle
#

makes sense lol

smoky stream
#

Ddr5 and newest socket is am5. Otherwise you wouldn’t be able to use the cpu

Something like this but 5080

#

?

stone spindle
#

yeah perfect, will it be less in price if i get 5070 as theyure cheaper ?

smoky stream
#

5070 will be quite a bit cheaper as 530 vs like 1000 but obviously less gaming performance

#

So it would probably be around 2000

stone spindle
#

ah okay tyy for help

smoky stream
#

If you went to 2000 then a 9950x may be a beneficial improvement for your uni work and get a bit more gaming performance too

stone spindle
#

one last question for example in that link no case fan are selected does that mean the case itself comes with stock fans or no

smoky stream
#

The aio fans and thats it unless case says they come with fans which this doesn’t but cheap enough to add

stone spindle
#

yeah got you, would AIO be enough

fossil stoneBOT
