So im new to pc gaming, the pc is just fine however when I try to connect to a party chat or play cod for instance when I have an ethernet cable plugged in, I can't talk in party chat and cod always loses connection to host.

However when I'm using wireless everything works just fine.

Downside to wireless is it's basically half of the speed my ethernet cable gives me.

I can download games and use the computer when ethernet is in place I was just wondering if anyone had any idea how I could resolve the issue, or if anyone had experience with sort of thing. Sorry if it's not allowed but I'm at a loss as to what I can do!

I can download and use the Internet with the ethernet cable I just don't understand why cod kicks me out and party chat won't work makes 0 sense to me

Apex let's me play but it's unbelievably laggy and I can't do anything lol

If its fine on WiFi i suspect its either the cable your using or the port which the cable is plugged into at the other end

Also when using Ethernet make sure Wifi on the PC is disabled or switched off

can also check to make sure the ethernet port on the PC is set to 1GB or the max your PC can handle

have you updated the ethernet drivers , i presume its a new PC?

I've tried 2 different cables previously same result

I have gigabyte x870 gaming one i think that's what it's called

I also attempted to port forward again failed result, I'm strongly considering just going back to my xbox😅

But I know they are there cuz I spoke to them on wireless

Xbox support said its to do with my isp

#

My isp said it was xbox lol
