My mates comp is getting on in years now and he's wondering what can he upgrade to make his comp a bit less cr*p, or if he just needs to save up a little and get a new setup. His setup is:
Gigabyte Z390 UD Intel Z390
Intel Core i7-9700K 3.6GHz
Palit GeForce RTX 2080 Gaming Pro OC 8192MB GDDR6
Team Group Night Hawk RGB 32GB (4x8GB) DDR4
Kolink KL-600M 600W 80 Plus Bronze Modular Power Supply

Thoughts?

That psu kills it in terms of upgrades if the motherboard hasn’t already. 9800x3d and 4080 super be perfect for them. If they want to save a bit the 4070 super but the jump in performance from a 2080 won’t be as big

#

However those specs imo can last another few months to a year for 50 series to come out and get a 9800x3d 5080 pc or something

like a 2080 gpu is definitely not crap, probably average if not above average in terms of what people mostly use. obviously if still wanting to play the newer games at high ultra settings at high fps you would start to feel dissapointed but that time comes with any gpu after a couple of generations. btw that motherboard only supports up to 9th gen intel cpus so whatever upgrade he makes would likely be at least 70% of a full pc anyway

#

if you went for an am5 upgrade you would have to upgrade all of these at the minimum: motherboard, cpu, ram, cpu cooler then you would have a gpu upgrade on top of that which would then mean a psu upgrade which then basically would mean you have replaced everything other than the case

Amazing, thank you 🙂 I shall pass on the recommendations 🙂
