New pc very very slow

around 12am yesterday when i hopped onto my pc, my pc started to become very slow for some reason, especially when it comes to loading games, for example when i load up fortnite it takes about a minute and a half for the game to properly load whereas before it would take about 10 seconds and this happens with my other games too. my fps in games i play are very bad, in warzone i would get around 200-220fps but now i get around 60fps and in the call of duty menu i would get around 170-180fps but now im getting only around 80fps. Also whenever i get on my pc i would load google, discord and spotify at the same time and they would all load within 1 second but now it takes like 10-15 seconds just to load up these small apps aswel. i have talked to a support member for the past 24 hours but now cyberpower are shut for the next 2 days i really need help on how to fix this.

Edit: also whenever i try to do video editing on after effects, the app would just close everytime and i would also lose my progress and i have tried absolutely EVERYTHING to fix this but nothing has worked, i also tried to reinstall windows to try and fix this problem but after around 10% of progress of re-downloading windows, my pc would just stop it and make me log in to my desktop. Also this is the second time within a month that im going to send my pc back and ask for a refund unfortuently

You need to keep that window open while doing "stuff" and see what (if anything) is using cpu/mem etc. If that's all fine then the issue may be SSD related

ill be opening my game and etc and keep track of whats happening with the cpu and etc

i cant keep track because when i press my windows button it takes about 5 seconds for me to try and check whats happening but when i do, fortnite drops to 30fps

I don't play Fortnite, but isn't there a graphics option to set the window as "Fullscreen Borderless" so you simply ALT+TAB to Task Manager?

but yeah ive changed the setting i was talking about, it was a power option in the game settings

i tried to open task manager while i was in a game but i had to click task manager 4-5 times for it to open

Open Task Manager and leave it open, start your game, ALT+TAB back to Task Manager and watch the data

You're looking for processes that are running with high cpu/mem or anything that is causing high storage activity. Obviously your game will also be doing that, but look for things that are not game related

so let me ask you something, your pc is for gaming but also video editing right? when buying this pc did you speak to any staff and mention you were editing videos as wel as gaming?

i agree, also in addition to this having a pc for video editing and then running games on it can cause stress to a system as its trying to load best settings configs for both which could be a conflict of interest

meaning it could be turning resolution down for one thing but needing it up for something else - this then is making the system contradict itself causes the system to slow

im going to be honest, in my personal opinion and as someone who encounters this same issue everyday for work, i think this issue is negligence. i think you should talk to staff if youre reconsidering the pc

What we're trying to say is if you got a similar price pc anywhere else you'll likely just end up back with these issues. If you were getting blue screens a lot or it just shutting down or things closing a lot then you probably have a bigger pc issue that needs fixing

i recommend staying with amd for cpu, i use video editing and 3D creation programs everyday whilst also gaming some evenings. i went from intel having tons of issues to my new amd cpu being completely fine and little to now lag

Also when I’d put the fps setting on unlimited for rocket league I would get around 1.5k fps but now I get around 220

7950x3d is probably your best bet as that's also great for gaming and the productivity side if you want video editing etc
