#MoBo beeps when starting up

Hey team,

I have an ASUS z590-P motherboard and recently on start up I get one long beep followed by 3 short beeps. I looked this up and apparently it's a GPU issue, but there doesn't seem to be any display problems with my PC and aside from the beeping, it appears to start up just fine. How else can I troubleshoot/repair this?

Thanks in advance

Yes, it could mean the GPU is faulty. Does it happen after a restart or just from a cold start? Have you made any changes to your hardware or bios?

No changes whatsoever. It happens from a restart and a cold start. I was doing some more reading and found someone else who had this issue if their monitor wasn't switched on/on the correct input before turning their PC on. I found that weird but just tested it and it seems that as long as my monitors are on and on the correct input - no beeps. I work from home so switch the input back and forwards, but why would that be a problem?

Yeah, I've heard of that issue/fix before...

It's a strange one, for sure. Can I take that as an indication that there isn't actually anything wrong though? shrug

it is an odd solution, just keep an eye on it and makes sure you've got import data backed up etc. I don't think it is failing, but to be safe

Yeah I'll keep a close eye - thanks!

Fair enough! I've not used my PC much recently and while I've not been using it I've started working from home, so just probably never noticed it to be a thing before because I wasn't switching inputs like that.
