Hi guys, was looking online for some help on how to utilise ram better. I found some suggestions to change the bios and clock speed etc. I changed a couple of settings and rebooted and now the pc turns on and all seems fine but is displaying nothing to the monitors, neither of them. They both say no signal and then go to sleep after a couple of minutes, I have restarted via the power button and turned the unit off at the rear power switch to. Not really sure what I’ve done?
#No startup.

Any beeps when it boots?
Listening now
I can’t tell when it’s fully booted (no screen displayed) but no it doesn’t seem to beep
Sounds like you were basically trying to overclock the mem.... can you get back into the bios? Spam DEL while booting
I was enabling the XMP or similar feature and adjust the target speed, I thought I’d been careful and didn’t adjust it too much
No, not able to access them - the display ends up going off
I'd reset the Bios... Look up how to reset the bios for your board (removing the CMOS battery)
Do I just search removing the battery or?
what mobo?
Do I need to know the board
you may have a reset button on the mobo
Im assuming it all needs unplugged and opening up? Like there is no external access?
CyberPowerPC UK
Please see the below video on how to reset the CMOS on your motherboard.
Turn off all peripheral devices connected to the computer.
Disconnect the power cord from the AC power source.
Remove th...
What RAM do you have? Does it support XMP/EXPO? If not then enabling the option is probably why it doesn't boot, or the clock settings were wrong... but it should have beeped if there was a RAM error...
some ddr4 Corsair
4x8
3600 I think
Am I going to need to move the GPU for this placement?
unfortunately you are...
Is that just a few screws or?
screws at the back, power cables and then pull it out (unless it has a PCI clip)
remove the two power cables from the gpu, and the two screws on the back plate
shouldn't, but make sure you lay the case on it's side
It is mate
power then screws
People who ask these questions should not be accessing the bios 😂😭
didn't want to say that 🙂
No
screws first
but support the GPU
I would unplug power first aswell
I think your mobo has PCI slot clips...
there is a clip on the right of the slot you need to push open
it will pop up the card
Which angle should I show?
like the manual I posted
I'd give that a good read fella
what SSD/HDD drives do you have? are any of them setup as RAID?
I found it!
Just the 1tb ssd
Not a clue what raid is mate
ok cool
erm... well... lets cross that bridge whne you're fcuk'd
nah, lets see
I’m still confused as to what I did wrong, I very much did not adjust many things maybe one or two values?
I'm 90% convinced you messed up the mem settings
the 10% is for the "oh fcuk"
Fingers crossed for the 90
ok it's been about 5 mins... stick it back in and do all the other stuff in reverse
when you try to boot hit/spam the DEL key
Help
F1
set the date/time for starters
Lovely
then go to "Boot" and check the settings
Done
:tada: Congrats @robust bobcat, you levelled up to 9! :tada:
Any other settings you’d think is useful to look at? Ram or fans or anything?
lets see if it gets into windows
Here we goooo
yes
Hahahahahahahahaha
Mate you’re an absolute amazing person, thank you so much
So patient and helpful, also with a hint of derogatory banter to keep it real
no worries... I'd reboot, go back in the bios and just have alook at the other settings for fans and such
Ermmmm
What do you mean?
I’d previously cranked the fan speed as the gpu was running hot, is it worth redoing?
You have completly rest you bios back to factory settinsg so you many want to tweak fan curves (or not)
Also, is the whole thing of your ram speed on the box versus the speed you’re running a thing worth changing?
Any you’d suggest? Think I put them on full speed last time but as we have seen, I’m not the most pc averse
I'd just have a lok in the bios and see what they are set to... they may be jsut fine
Okay will take a dive now
as for RAM tweaks... you need to know the specs of your Mem, what it can support in terms of clocks and OC and if it can do XMP/EXPO
just enable XMP and u good
ye but your ram is running at defaults
So xmp is the answer?
Yes
Is it known universally as xmp or does it vary on the brand?
Intel is XMP, AMD is EXPO
fairy fluff
AM5 has EXPO/XMP
don't mess with that
yeah, give it a go
Okay let’s save and reset!
as I was saying before... if need to fiddle with the temps jsut hit F6 in the bios to take you to fan control and you should be able to adjust the fan curves
well... to the moon mate
Things are feeling a little more snappy on the first impression
Possibly placebo but I’ll take it
🙂
Anywhere I can leave any feedback mate?
so.... you're all good? can I go get a beer?
Get 3 mate
Yeah I don’t see a channel or anything for it
no idea fella, I'm new around these parts, only here cuz I got a new PC a couple of weeks ago and wanted to post p0rn pics of my rig 🙂
😂😂 casual as anything
Veeeeery nice mate, can’t get on the curved for the main myself but I can appreciate a lovely view
ty mate 🙂
I’ll let you get on with that beer now pal, as I said before - you dragged me right out that expensive hole, I very much appreciate your knowledge
Thanks mate, have a great day x
no worries happy to help! good luck and try not to fiddle to much 🙂
I’ll stay away boss! 👋🏻
