Microsoft is telling me to update my BIOS
But I have been told from staff here NOT to do it
How would updating the bios do anything it's just a bad windows install
Do it the proper way
If you are upgrading from Windows 10, you may need to enable TPM and Secure Boot in order to proceed with the Windows 11 installation - please follow the TPM & Secure Boot guide below first.
:warning: When reinstalling Windows, you will lose any files which are not backed up to the cloud or an external drive - please ensure any files you would like to keep are backed up before continuing.
:one: Click the button below and download the 'Create Windows 11 Installation Media' tool.
:two: Follow through the installation tool, and choose 'USB flash drive' when prompted. Your USB flash drive must be 8GB or greater.
:three: Once the tool has finished, shut down the PC you're installing Windows on and insert the USB drive.
:four: Next, repeatedly press the following key while your PC is turning on, depending on your motherboard:
ASUS/ROG: F8
Aorus/Gigabyte: F12
MSI/ASRock/Cyberpower: F11
Then choose your USB drive from the list to boot from it.
:five: Follow through the installation tool. When it asks for your product key, click Skip - your PC will automatically reactivate. Make sure to select the same Windows version as you ordered with your PC, then choose a Custom installation.
:six: Select the drive in which you would like to install Windows on (you will want to install Windows on your SSD, this is typically a smaller drive), delete any partitions which already exist and then select Drive # Unallocated Space, and click Next.
:seven: Once your PC restarts, you will be taken to the first-time setup screen, where you can setup your user account and preferences.
Also updating the bios isnt dangerous and you shouldn't be scared of it just get permission from cyberpower first
I think it was yourself or someone else who advised me not to do it.
I think because it was a cloud install, something might have corrupted or maybe my profile is corrupt.
I already recently got a USB that I downloaded with Windows 11. I don't know if I should do that or the "fix problems using Windows Updater"?
They tell me it might be an issue with the BIOS since I have updated
Nah
they said this " it might be the issue with the Outdated BIOS, because with Window 11 we have older version as well, like 21 H2 , 22H2, and now the latest one is 23H2, so earlier you were using the older build version but due to re-installation, the updated version has been installed which is not compatible with the BIOS."
yeah I will
Perfect
I'll let you know how it goes
Now the USB install is going in a loop asking me what do I want to keep. I've restarted the PC.
I think it's an issue with the profile
:tada: Congrats @low idol, you levelled up to 15! :tada:
Send a screenshot
After reinstalling it, Start > Home is slow and now the search function isn't working
You did the clean install yeah?
I told Windows 11 to keep my file's and just reinstall itself
I'm going to try out a local account
Local account works fine
