Hi, I accidentally clicked the “clear CMOS button” on the back of my PC. My motherboard is an MSI Z790 tomahawk Wi-Fi. When I click the button my PC turned off and when it turned back on a pop-up came up for MSI center. Are there any suggestions with what to do with this pop-up? I’ve clicked and stole on everything but I’m wondering now if MSI center is even worth installing, as in, if it affects gaming performance.

Check if XMP is enabled (if your RAM is running at 4800mhz it isn't)
Install*
MSI Centre isn't going to effect performance
How do u check that
Task manager > performance > memory
Looks like you did
You can go into the bios and enable XMP again, and adjust fan curves if you need.
Yeee my ram is 6000mhz so is that an issue c
Not really, just enable in bios.
How do I do that? 🤣
Hold shift + restart > advanced options > uefi something
then click on Profile 1 under memory
There’s a restart button?
Looks to be on so you can just do a restart
Just click the x?
Yep, and save options
I read online that the CMOS button resets settings to default. I had my PC optimized by some other guy, I’m guessing it would’ve changed any settings he used?
Yes, but XMP and fan curves is basically the only thing you needa do
Check if its 6000mhz, and then thats all!
Yep just checked now and it’s perfect 👍
Awesome!
Sorry another thing I’ve realized
The bottom blue USB’s aren’t working now
Oh never mind, all good all of a sudden 🤣
If they are a bit flakey, something may be up, but they should be good 👍
I have the same motherboard as you !
Its super nice
Ayyy
U ever had any issues?
Nope! All smooth
