Over the last couple of months, when Ive played video games, my pc has crashed a few times if any impact on my desk happens, for example if I hit it with my knee from below, even if it’s not that hard.
The screen freezes and that weird sound can be heard on my headphones - then the screen goes blank and the sound continues while my pc is still running. It continued until I restart my pc from the power button manually.
Today, it started randomly crashing in the same manner but WITHOUT any impact whatsoever and I’m quite concerned. Any idea as to the cause and fix?

What GPU?
2060 super
Do these steps and see if it helps. I suspect something is loose.
Alright thanks I’ll get back to you.
I looked on some forums online for similar issues and they also said something is prolly loose
Bro I’m scared of damaging smth by removing components
:tada: Congrats @tardy sorrel, you levelled up to 1! :tada:
If you follow the videos well you won't break them
Should I clean the ram/gpu after removal?
You can yeah
How so
Just clean the dust off it using some compressed air or such
Don’t have any
Will tissues work
If you have a soft, lint-free cloth
I’ve removed the screws and power cables and pushed that button down to remove my gpu but it’s barely loose
If you are sure you did all the steps, pull the GPU towards you.
You have to pull it towards you from inside of the case
Can you send a photo?
Alr did
Where the PCIE slot is (where the GPU connects to the motherboard) you should have a little clip too
So back to the GPU, did you unclip it?
There shouldn't be screws tbh
Looking at how the GPU is, the only screws I'd imagine the covers are connecting with, are these ones
That's the ones
There’s all these screws but I can’t tell if they part of the gpu or whether the gpu is mounted onto that plastic thing
Don't unscrew those
You don't need to touch any screws on the GPU
you'll end up dismantling that whole GPU and potentially bricking it
2 of em potentially
^
Sorry where on the pc is this
:tada: Congrats @tardy sorrel, you levelled up to 2! :tada:
W
Yes
They actually aren’t connected to anything
You sure
Wait I’m tweaking
Pictures
Please don't be unscrewing random bits
Top
yeah it'll be them screws
No it's there
Idk how many you need to unscrew but surely it's just these
The top one is a PCIE network adaptor
yeah looks like the two accent posted
There is a clip you have to push down on the motherboard
Already pushed it
oh
I think the thing shown at the end of the video is attached to the gpu not sure how to remove
I checked
Picture
That looks like its in locked
Am I meant to push it down or pull it up
The metal on the case seems to still be attached to it that’s why it’s not coming out
It may push to the right
Its like a switch
like push it down, and it should click up
Nah it’s not this I think
^
That metal isn't attached
It's moving freely,
it's now just stuck in the port
It looks like this bit is locked in
It needs to come out
This section is pretty much out it’s just the section closer to the case that isn’t coming out
And you took out all the screws on the side part?
Yes
Yea all out
:tada: Congrats @tardy sorrel, you levelled up to 3! :tada:
It’s just stuck on the case side
Not where that push down thing is on the motherboard
Order number 👀
What’s wrong w it 😢
Just pop that side bit off, and send a photo
Yep it’s out 😊
It was holding those metal things down that’s why it couldn’t slide up
Ahhh
While I’m here are there any other components in the pc I should clean
💀
^^
Do I check my PSU?
RAM and no PSU is okay probably
Alr did ram
Then put everything back after a clean and hope the issues are solved
Yes boss
Everything reassembled and plugged in - realized how much unnecessary stuff I removed 😭
Anyways
Thank you guys sm for your help this far, but I still need to test over the next day or two so will get back to you 👍🏽
👍
There’s actually a display I’m shocked

Rq question - my pc is abit outdated now and I’d like to start upgrading it; new CPU, more storage, maybe some faster RAM… where could I go to know whether what I’m buying is compatible and do you think I could mount it all by myself?
I'd recommend Amazon for parts, but I'm not too sure what they're like over there?
You will need to upgrade motherboard for a CPU replacement
I would probably take it to CPUK for upgrades (You will have to pay labour)
He's international so that shipping alone would be PRICEY
I think if I remember its a part of Africa?
Yeh I live in Kenya bro 😭 shipping is CRAZY
How's Amazon like in Kenya?
There’s a few pc builders here sure I could import the parts and let them do the work
There’s no Amazon
Oh.
Have to use Amazon UK then either ship it to relatives or there are a few companies that import stuff as a business
Jeeez
Shipping alone would be insane,
Lol
Its like £5 per kg or per m^3 idk how they calculate it
So a cpu and some ram wouldn’t be that much
Or £6.50 idk
Yeah but a motherboard 😬
Ye ig
And it’s quite a big install idk if there’s enough expertise here
There’s always LTT tho
Yeah you can do youtube, but just be careful.
Yeh idk if I trust myself and my motherboard is quite complex
