Okay, you've got corsair fans, Do you have iCue downloaded?

outer pewter
#

I do!

tawny forge
#

can you show me what fans are showing up in iCue?

#

or what you see on the dashboard

outer pewter
#

icue always gives me issues.. but one moment 🙂

#

currently it died and now my keyboard is not lighting up ahha

tawny forge
#

oh god haha

outer pewter
#

this correct?

tawny forge
#

5 fans yeah?

outer pewter
#

believe so yep!

#

looks like #1 #3 are going mental

#

and on the gfx card 1 and 2 are at 0 :O?

tawny forge
#

okay, so I need to remember what iCue looks like again, You should have a area where you can access Fan Control

#

Under devices you should have a fan hub or something of the sorts

tawny forge
outer pewter
#

looking for a fan control

tawny forge
#

it'll be under devices and then a fan hub you have to select

#

when I had a corsair system it was a commander pro, but it could be different for CPUK systems

outer pewter
#

doesnt have the fans on there? 😮

tawny forge
#

hmmm

#

ahhhh, is the AF120's non RGB? or static LED

#

if so they aren't icue compatiable, and it requires to use mobo control

#

what motherboard do you have?

outer pewter
#

ah i think my corsairs are non RGB.

#

MOTHERBOARD: MSI PRO Z790-P WIFI: ATX w/ PCIe 5.0, Wi-Fi 6E, USB 3.2 Gen 2x2

tawny forge
#

yeah that explains why it's not in iCue, so gotta control it via a different method

#

lemme see

hexed nest
tawny forge
#

he bet me too it

hexed nest
#

You can control your fans in there, to be fair, I'm not sure if they have to be PWM, you can see though.

outer pewter
hexed nest
#

Top right there's 4 squares

#

Then you scroll down the feature sets until you see User Scenario

outer pewter
#

installing 🙂

hexed nest
#

If this doesn't work we can just do it directly in the bios, no worries there.

outer pewter
#

whats weirded me out of everything, is this system was fantasicly silent and fine, and out the blue its gone loud

tawny forge
#

yeah computers can do weird things sometimes

hexed nest
#

Maybe your CMOS reset?

outer pewter
hexed nest
#

Go into take manager and go to performance, RAM and then take a screenshot

outer pewter
hexed nest
#

Go to memory

outer pewter
hexed nest
#

Looks fine.

#

Ok, back to fan control we go

#

On Sys fan 2, click on the little cog and take a screenshot

outer pewter
#

hmmm

#

this, theni click on the sys fan 2

#

and shows this

#

CPU fan

cprgbglitch :tada: Congrats @outer pewter, you levelled up to 3! :tada: cprgbglitch

hexed nest
#

I have a suspicion of what is happening

#

Do you have discord on your phone so we can work with you while in the bios?

outer pewter
#

i do 🙂

hexed nest
#

Great! Shut down the computer, turn it on and mash the DEL key on your keyboard till you get into the bios.

outer pewter
#

gotcha¬!

hexed nest
#

Press F7 for me

outer pewter
#

Done

hexed nest
#

Then head over to hardware monitor

outer pewter
tawny forge
#

hot damn that curve

hexed nest
#

Nah it's fine for CPU

outer pewter
#

This bad? 🤣

hexed nest
#

Go to system fan 2

outer pewter
tawny forge
outer pewter
#

Sorry this is all new to me. I've no idea about this stuff haha

hexed nest
#

Press all set to defaults

#

Then make every fan very quiet (leave pump header out)

outer pewter
#

I pressed defaults and nothings changed

hexed nest
#

I guess it was all at default in the first place

#

What is confusing me is system 3 was showing up in Corsair, but now isn't in motherboard control.

outer pewter
#

Hmm.

hexed nest
#

Make system 2 really loud

#

Like bring the red circle up

#

Then see what fan does it

outer pewter
#

Okay. It's all the way up. And nothings changing.

hexed nest
#

No noise difference at all?

outer pewter
outer pewter
#

Low and also no change

hexed nest
#

These fans are maxed out at 1500rpm - why is it being so weird and saying they can go to 15000?

#

Alright, I apologise but this is an issue I really don't know how to solve.

outer pewter
#

Awh that's okay!

hexed nest
#

You can continue using your system and get into contact with support on Monday.

tawny forge
#

atleast the system won't be overheating

outer pewter
#

Yeah it's very annoying..

hexed nest
#

Ey with the amount of air those fans are kicking out that's gonna keep that cold haha

#

Yeah, they will resolve it very fast.

outer pewter
#

I really hope they can help solve it haha 🙂

tawny forge
#

it'll be resolved as fast as those fans

outer pewter
#

It's only been doing it since last night when I was tinkering around with iPad jailbreaking.

I flashed a usb.
Then boot from usb. (Fans kicked up)
I was in something called Checkra1n and Grub. (No idea)

Then since the fans stuck like this.

hexed nest
#

I don't know if it is correlated but that doesn't seem too good.

outer pewter
#

Yeah.. no idea. :/

#

Thank you for trying guys.

hexed nest
#

No worries, sadly we could help though pepesad

I’m thinking whether Pwm/dc fan mode might make a difference here

On my PC the fans don’t have speed adjustment in dc mode

You also need smart fan mode or the fans run at a fixed speed

outer pewter
#

Guys - what's the difference between pwm and pc fan?

Because.. I just switched it over to Smart fan Mode and PWM and it's now back to Whisper quite!!! But... I don't wanna overheat it or cause issues?

#

And I don't know which of these I want smart fan Mode on or not

#

and what RPM should my CPU be running at? 😮

merry juncoBOT
#

cprgbglitch :tada: Congrats @outer pewter, you levelled up to 4! :tada: cprgbglitch

outer pewter
hexed nest
#

My mistake! thought those were DC fans!

#

If its quiet, its fine.

outer pewter
#

You sure? haha everything is silent once again now, but i dont know which i want ..
Smart Mode on, and which i want to change to PWM or DC?

#

CPU fan seems to be running high?

#

4026RPM on CPU

#

PUMP Fan1 is 1400ish

tawny forge
#

that may be your AIO/pump

hexed nest
#

Yea it would be

outer pewter
#

So EVERY fan smart fan mode?

hexed nest
#

If it is quiet, its fine

#

Some fans can be left on static

outer pewter
#

okie dokie 🙂 thanks!

#

Now to work out why my iCUE never works on my rbg keyboard lmao

hexed nest
#

Thats just icue!

outer pewter
#

yeah my keyboard is not showing up

strong oyster
#

try restarting icue

outer pewter
#

nope 😦

#

usually works again on a system restart

Cyberpower have a script that they put on all their PCs to reset iCue, you could give that a try:

Article suggestion from Harry

RESETTING ICUE TO DEFAULT VALUES

This article will give you some troubleshooting steps in order to reset Corsairs ICUE software.

If you're having issues with your Corsair branded fans, sometimes they can be caused by the software itself, there are some super easy steps you can take to try and resolve the issues without touching the hardware itself.

Please check in your C: drive you should have a file called "RestoreICUE.bat" locate this file and be ready (orders received after 27/6/2023 can find it inside of the CPUK Technical Support' folder). Please close ICUE COMPLETELY, you can do this by opening task manager and ending the processes OR expand the taskbar to show the hidden icons (this is the small arrow in the bottom right of your display) then right click and close ICUE. Now we can go back to the "RestoreICUE.bat", right-click and run this file as administrator. Give it 5 minutes then you can re-open ICUE and see how it behaves. If this does not fix the problems you're having then Corsair actually recommend a clean reinstallation of the ICUE utility engine, here is a link to Corsairs own article about that:

https://help.corsair.com/hc/en-us/articles/360025166712-Perform-a-clean-reinstallation-of-the-Corsair-Utility-Engine-iCUE-If your issues persist please get back in touch with our support team and they can advise further.
