Dual Loop or nothing

twin siren
#

Water cool all the way

elfin quail
#

ASUS Motherboard if you can

#

ASUS GPU if you can

twin siren
#

Nuh uh I have my gripes with em

tall charm
#

IMO if you're in it for the long run, go for the best spec you can realistically afford. If you can get a big dual loop and you don't intend on upgrading in the next 3-5 years then just go for it. It's a big investment but so worth it. Also go for the 14900K BUT FOR THE LOVE OF TECH JESUS DO NOT OVERCLOCK IT

cprgbglitch :tada: Congrats @twin siren, you levelled up to 45! :tada: cprgbglitch

frosty oriole
#

Whilst it's on the table, big question, Distro or dual loop?

twin siren
#

Best systems have distro plates

elfin quail
#

Distro if you got the case

twin siren
#

Evo can do it

tall charm
#

Distro kit and then email sales after placing the order so you can add a second radiator

twin siren
#

Third radiator anyone

elfin quail
twin siren
quartz geyser
#

Yes

elfin quail
#

My case could fit a few tbh

twin siren
#

Front distro

#

Side top bottom radiator

#

So many sexy 90 bends

frosty oriole
#

I was told by CS that I could "potentially" have a distro front mounted in an EVO

tall charm
#

Yeah technically that should be fine, just place the order with the dynamic xl and then we can swap the case

twin siren
#

Mudkip your budget was like £6k?

tall charm
#

Not sure if it is a different distro or the one we normally get so would have to check

frosty oriole
#

hopefully under 6k

twin siren
#

We have had too many conversations in dms kekdog kekdog

#

Legit 10k messages shared

lmaoooo

frosty oriole
quartz geyser
#

It's only 3k for the card alone

frosty oriole
#

only

twin siren
#

Yeah talk to someone in 2017

#

The 4090 will be only £2k

quartz geyser
#

But it takes down the number of rads you can have

twin siren
#

Mudkip I have made you too indecisive

frosty oriole
#

yes

#

you have

twin siren
#

Get the front distro with shiz tons of radiators

quartz geyser
#

Since it has its own 360 rad

elfin quail
frosty oriole
#

mainly just gaming

elfin quail
#

Because the 7800X3D is still better choice than a 14900K.

#

It’s about 4-5% faster.

#

Less power, less heat.

#

Cheaper too.

frosty oriole
#

@twin siren is that the bad AM5 to stay away from

twin siren
#

Indeed

tall charm
#

lol

twin siren
#

I think Jacob knows why I think that kekw kekw

frosty oriole
tall charm
#

You did have a nightmare tbf

twin siren
#

Jacob I'm sorry 💔

#

I made you work basically overtime

elfin quail
#

It’s your money but

twin siren
#

I've had no issues so far!

#

Dave was a good good builder

frosty oriole
#

I mean... maybe Jacob can answer this,

#

is the 14th supposed to be

#

CHEAPER

twin siren
#

Probably stock issues idk

tall charm
#

I questioned that also

#

It actually is cheaper

twin siren
#

Same MSRP though

#

No way?

frosty oriole
#

IT IS?

tall charm
#

Legit

twin siren
#

That's super weird right

tall charm
#

Very

twin siren
#

Do we feel good or bad about that 😭

tall charm
#

I feel good, new hardware for lower price is win-win right?

frosty oriole
#

isn't it like priced at £50-60 over what the 13th variant is

twin siren
#

Why intel though kekw

tall charm
twin siren
#

It's a win for us though

#

Same socket

frosty oriole
#

I can save money... by upgrading...

twin siren
#

And I don't feel bad after my 13600k choice a few weeks ago kekw kekw

quartz geyser
#

Because Intel have to do something to make 14 series sell

frosty oriole
#

true

#

there is barely any change

#

apart from what, like 3 extra e cores

quartz geyser
#

Cos it's not great. It's basically just a 13 series refresh

#

Besides the 14700k has a few more E cores

twin siren
#

To be honest kekw that's what I like about intel
AMD changed so much and made a beta test platform IMO

#

I am very biased yes

#

Intel never releases a platform where that stuff happens alot

quartz geyser
#

I mean if you are just gaming I'd go with a 7800X3D

twin siren
#

Go 7800x3d 🥺

#

Against my will

frosty oriole
#

inb4 spooky v2

twin siren
#

Boospookykip

#

Experience the wrath

frosty oriole
#

I'll be giving Jacob a full time job

twin siren
#

Another full time job eh kekw

frosty oriole
tall charm
#

I already have 2x because I have to do Alans job as well as mine

twin siren
#

Jacob is waking up to AMD nightmares now

frosty oriole
#

how hasn't AMD fixed their "test" platform yet tho

twin siren
#

I'm biased

frosty oriole
#

with the amount of issues people have

twin siren
#

Don't listen to me

#

Jacob what's the numbers truthfully

tall charm
#

"8000-series" will fix it

twin siren
#

Yeah 👍kekdog

tall charm
#

I am interested to see how much better it could be

twin siren
#

AMD should do 1 year refreshes imo

frosty oriole
#

I mean it won't be hard to beat Intel's 14th gen

I'm thinking

5000 series were rock solid

Noice

twin siren
#

I gave him a titanium PSU for the flex of it when I tried helping kekw kekw

frosty oriole
twin siren
#

Nah what's your PSU brokie?

tall charm
twin siren
quartz geyser
#

Why only 1 m.2

twin siren
#

To be fair changing SSDs is gonna be painful for anyone with a system decked out like that

frosty oriole
#

manevouring around all those pipes

twin siren
#

What's that liquid kekw

frosty oriole
#

why is it sticky

#

CPUK tea filled PC when?

twin siren
#

That coolant stuff yeah

#

Actually

quartz geyser
#

That's why you put the m.2s in first. Or use a conventional SSD in the drive bays

frosty oriole
#

I don't know if I'm making this up, but one of em have it, doesn't the Lian li Evo have hot swappable drives at the back

#

its one of the cases, that's all I remember

tall charm
#

maybe

twin siren
#

Tbf SATA drives are kinda out dated for non mass storage

#

Just get lots of m.2 stuff you will love it

quartz geyser
#

I don't think they are hot swappable. It does have room for 4 drives at the back though

#

I mean a Sata SSD is fine

twin siren
#

Yeah but m.2s are cheap and faster

#

Win win

frosty oriole
#

Spooky, weren't you going to bed like an hour ago

#

fr

twin siren
#

Yeah but no

frosty oriole
twin siren
#

Sleep is for the weak

quartz geyser
#

It's just sata HDDs that you don't want to use except for mass storage or games that don't care about fast acsess

twin siren
#

Isn't pcie 5 drives crazy hot?

#

Did they sort it out?

quartz geyser
#

Probably not. We'll be seeing heckin chonker m.2 heatsinks. Or fans on them

twin siren
#

Some of em did aha

frosty oriole
#

Anyway, thank you all for helping me decide (spooky just makes me more indecisive) I'm off to bed

twin siren
#

Don't blame me you

#

I have made you go distro plate

#

You will love it

quartz geyser
#

I've seen a Gigabyte Z790 board with huge heatsinks on the M.2 slots

twin siren
#

Lemme grab a picture kekw they were ridiculous

quartz geyser
#

I mean I dunno how you'd get a big GPU in as well

twin siren
#

That's not too big tbf

#

That's were some weird liquid cooled ones aswell or something kekw

rose oreBOT
#

cptick You have thanked @twin siren for this thread!

twin siren

Cheers love
