#Watercool or not to watercool

Water cool all the way
Nuh uh I have my gripes with em
IMO if you're in it for the long run, go for the best spec you can realistically afford. If you can get a big dual loop and you don't intend on upgrading in the next 3-5 years then just go for it. It's a big investment but so worth it. Also go for the 14900K BUT FOR THE LOVE OF TECH JESUS DO NOT OVERCLOCK IT
Another point is how much better they can look
:tada: Congrats @twin siren, you levelled up to 45! :tada:
Whilst it's on the table, big question, Distro or dual loop?
Best systems have distro plates
Distro if you got the case
Evo can do it
Distro kit and then email sales after placing the order so you can add a second radiator
Would it be possible?
The evo can do it no?
Yes
My case could fit a few tbh
I was told by CS that I could "potentially" have a distro front mounted in an EVO
Yeah technically that should be fine, just place the order with the dynamic xl and then we can swap the case
Mudkip your budget was like £6k?
Not sure if it is a different distro or the one we normally get so would have to check
hopefully under 6k
lmaoooo
Just get a 4090 matrix
Yeah he said it was theoretically possible, but he wasn't too sure
It's only 3k for the card alone
But it takes down the number of rads you can have
Mudkip I have made you too indecisive
Get the front distro with shiz tons of radiators
Since it has its own 360 rad
You want just a gaming set up or you using for work?
mainly just gaming
Because the 7800X3D is still better choice than a 14900K.
It’s about 4-5% faster.
Less power, less heat.
Cheaper too.
@twin siren is that the bad AM5 to stay away from
Indeed
lol
I think Jacob knows why I think that

You did have a nightmare tbf
It’s your money but
Probably stock issues idk
IT IS?
Legit
That's super weird right
Very
Do we feel good or bad about that 😭
I feel good, new hardware for lower price is win-win right?
isn't it like priced at £50-60 over what the 13th variant is
When the 14700k is a weirdly oced 13700k for cheaper yeah
Why intel though

And I don't feel bad after my 13600k choice a few weeks ago

Because Intel have to do something to make 14 series sell
Cos it's not great. It's basically just a 13 series refresh
Besides the 14700k has a few more E cores
To be honest
that's what I like about intel
AMD changed so much and made a beta test platform IMO
I am very biased yes
Intel never releases a platform where that stuff happens alot
I mean if you are just gaming I'd go with a 7800X3D
inb4 spooky v2
I'll be giving Jacob a full time job
Another full time job eh

I already have 2x because I have to do Alans job as well as mine
Jacob is waking up to AMD nightmares now
how hasn't AMD fixed their "test" platform yet tho
I'm biased
with the amount of issues people have
"8000-series" will fix it
Yeah 👍
I am interested to see how much better it could be
AMD should do 1 year refreshes imo
I mean it won't be hard to beat Intel's 14th gen

Noice
I gave him a titanium PSU for the flex of it when I tried helping

Nah what's your PSU brokie?

Why only 1 m.2
To be fair changing SSDs is gonna be painful for anyone with a system decked out like that
manevouring around all those pipes
What's that liquid
That's why you put the m.2s in first. Or use a conventional SSD in the drive bays
I don't know if I'm making this up, but one of em have it, doesn't the Lian li Evo have hot swappable drives at the back
its one of the cases, that's all I remember
maybe
Tbf SATA drives are kinda out dated for non mass storage
Just get lots of m.2 stuff you will love it
I don't think they are hot swappable. It does have room for 4 drives at the back though
I mean a Sata SSD is fine
Yeah but no

Sleep is for the weak
It's just sata HDDs that you don't want to use except for mass storage or games that don't care about fast acsess
Probably not. We'll be seeing heckin chonker m.2 heatsinks. Or fans on them
Some of em did aha
Anyway, thank you all for helping me decide (spooky just makes me more indecisive) I'm off to bed

I've seen a Gigabyte Z790 board with huge heatsinks on the M.2 slots
Lemme grab a picture
they were ridiculous
I mean I dunno how you'd get a big GPU in as well
That's not too big tbf
That's were some weird liquid cooled ones aswell or something
You have thanked @twin siren for this thread!
Cheers love
aio cooled m.2
