Just to make sure, does your setup have wireless?
If so, I'm pretty sure it should simply show up in the Network section?
Try a powerline adapter. Gives you a wired connection and you just need to make sure you have a spare plug socket next to your pc, and your router
Super easy to setup
You get 2 plugs and 2 ethernet cables. One plug goes next to your pc, and connects with an ethernet cable (plug the cable into the plug, with the other end going into your pc)
Second plug goes next to your router (same setup as pc where you have the ethernet connected into your plug, with the other end going into your pc)
Router is nowhere near the pc. That's the issue
That's the magic with the powerline adapters Gordan mentioned, they use your existing electrical wiring to transmit the signal.
As long as the house isn't too dated with electrical wiring, most use cases work
My house is old af and it works fine
My router is downstairs, and my pc is upstairs
Still have a wired connection though
Dedicated routers... anyone?
Because of the power-line adapter
must be a me thing
Oh. I understand. Thank you. Upstairs downstairs too!
I've got them myself, legit a 2 minute installation, if that
:tada: Congrats @manic warren, you levelled up to 1! :tada:
TPLink is solid
and cheaper usually?
think its like an amazon thing
Yeah I've got TPLink and I can vouch for them 100%
yeah, well I can vouch for their magical powerline adapters
nothing else
I plead the 5th
I don't. 🔫
Nah TP-Link do good PCIE network cards too, if you have onboard wifi though it can conflict unless you disable the onboard wifi
Sadly I've had issues with their t4E for a friend's build
Had to install unofficial drivers to make it not fuck up 100 times a day
