#Z490-plus USB-C not working - is the board broken?

I got my PC around 2-3 years ago now I think, and it has a USB-C port in the front of the case (NZXT H511) and one in the back. I didn’t have devices that used USB-C at the time so I could not test them.

I have a graphics tablet and an iPad that both have USB C now, and neither of the ports work. There’s no recognition at all that they’ve been plugged into anything and the PC doesn’t recognise anything either.

I have tried unchecking the save power options in Device Manager, I’ve tried deleting the hub controllers, and I’ve made sure everything is enabled in BIOS. I’ve gone through every support guide that I can find, basically. From Google it seems like a common problem with this board - do I have any other options? All the other ports work fine, it’s just the C ports that do not.

I’m assuming that it’s not under warranty anymore, so am I stuck with buying a new motherboard if there’s nothing else I can try? I have no clue where to start with that.

That is not an option, that would not work with the display tablet. I need a working port for the display to work on the tablet

I'm sure USB A can output display similar to USB C as the ports have the same capability on that board

When I searched it said not - the tablet is a Wacom Cintiq. Are you sure that the screen would work with an adaptor?

Always worth a shot. The adapters are cheap off amazon and if it doesn't work you can send it back. Its a no loss situation

If it doesn’t work, what are my options then? Is there anything else I can buy or try or am I looking at a new board?

It’s really frustrating that they’ve never worked and I missed the warranty window just because I didn’t have any devices before that used it to find that out
