im following this tutorial and i got to the part where the punches are supposed to work. Ive copied everything in the video almost 1:1 and it doesnt work, pls help (if this has already been fixed then direct me to there)

  1. if youre following a tutorial for how to make an entire game, it will not be successful.
  2. posting the same thing over and over is more likely to get you banned than helped

anyway try to avoid general tutorials like this, if you want to script, following a recipe is not the way to learn.

also help posts are for more specific programming/system problems, really if you want this issue solved then you'd have more luck asking the creator of the tutorial

the problem is that i have no idea what im looking at, and before you ask why i wanted to make a battlegrounds game its because i think theyre cool

the best advice i can give you is forget your game ideas. they're probably not good anyway, not a personal attack, but every beginner dev game idea i've heard (very much including my own) just aren't good, for one reason or another.

forget your ideas and just try and make things for fun. That's the best way to learn, fuelled by your own curiosity for "how do i do this" and "how do i do that", instead of "how do i make this whole thing", break the problem down, and if even the chunks seem like too much, try. If you can't do it, that's fine, revisit when you're more skilled.
