Please discuss this idea civilly, don't forget to vote on this idea in #📝︱server-suggestions!
and who will pay them to make the tutorials?
I said maybe and if they would need payment idrk maybe the owners
all the money the server makes from sponsorships and subscribers possibly
do you think we get any of it
and where do you think the money for giveaways and events we host comes from, its there as well
i dont know how big of a cut discord gets from subscribers but i doubt its more than $50/mo
i mean yeah
we could maybe pay for one tutorial a month
well idk if you need to pay them
well then im sorry to disappoint u but no
isnt the sponsorships like 100 dollars
yes u do
what sponsorships
lfg, nyantsubu
interesting
how do u know about server revenue tho
ok suppose we had 500 on some rsc fund account rn from the sponsorships
im pretty sure we spent it all on a giveaway not too long ago or a gamejam
and even if we didnt paying for tutorials would surely not be the best place to spend it
thatd be like 1 tutorial per category
when you need tens 😭
i mean knowledge is always better then money
i dont, im just saying that the subscribers are gonna be around $50/mo
ill be honest with you, if i got access to the fund, the first thing id be paying is staff, not some tutorials
also i think the og suggestor wasnt thinking like tutorials made by rank 4, more like rank 4 sharing resources that they used to get to their rank
theyre slaving away for free
so like a pro resource channel
even i am if we talk about management not bot dev
yeah no doubt about it
they use docs and uni and years of practice
theres no rank 4 quality tutorials 😭
rank 4s used tutorials to get started, did they not
doesnt mean they were good
creating a channel that only they can use to promote those
better then nothing i mean
the first python tutorials i used i can 100% guarantee were piss dogshit
and the first thing i found on yt
well then post the ones you think helped you the most
now id consider myself a low s4 in python prob
exactly this channel would help new devs to find the right tutorials
i mean theres already a public resources channel
and a staff resources channel
thats approved by staff im ean
sooo
there is?
#📦︱resources #📦︱public-resources #1368975716045164717 #📦︱staff-resources idk which of these are public but yes
oh yeah
wait @tawny prairie I lowkey dont understand then
the idea of this suggestion is pretty much already implemented
ok thats cool
Resource channels don't cover all the aspect of development
They are mainly scripting and those things last time I checked
But if they don't have funds then Ig just ask the content creators to make some bc I have seen some do that before with suggesting ideas to them
kinda like the idea, maybe like a forum channel with some of the best youtube tutorials or courses (non-bloat stuff) for each development skill handpicked by the best in their category (rank 3s and 4s). While yes, they have watched like hundreds and thousands of yt vids at that point but maybe some still stand out which helped them the most. Custom tutorials are indeed overkill, just a collection of most useful yt vids and courses could work (scripting is probably handled differently but idk). Resources are just free stuff and pinned messages in channels are also bloat at this point.
The respective dev channels can then just point the newbies in this channel
yeah cuz scripting is far more active than half the other categories combined
you cant expect there to be the same amount of resources in a rank with 1000 people and 100 people
ik
thats what im saying
it would be easier
