py image processor that converts heatmaps to actual maps, uses a greedy mesh algorithm to reduce part count
literal rts game, uses ^^ for it's maps, originally used perlin noise over layers for terrain

greedy meshing is not a good optimization for voxel games
i had a binary greedy mesher on one of my old project and it was slower
lod is cheap and faster
but if you were to but make a 1 by 2 tunnel, wouldn't it just block itself up from distance
