To prove a point I searched and there were 7 unrelated posts before I found one looking for a UI Designer
When I searched Ui it showed 1 non Ui post
Some searches give different results than others, for example if I search "UI" there's 7 posts before one UI related post, and when I search "UI Design" there's more UI Designer posts, but that one UI related post from "UI" didn't show up. The search bar is completely unreliable.
Would you prefer if we created a more unform way for people to post?
like make emojis for each role and indicate you must use the following in your post
UI DESIGNER
idk
color coded
so when ur scrolling and see certain color its easier to spot it
That'd work a lot better, you could also possibly do skill role pings
Like dedicated ping roles for different skills
Like
Would you like to get notified about opportunities for your skill?
- @ForHireScripter
- @ForHireBuilder
- @ForHireUI
- etc
Yeah
well actually that would be tough to do since we cant specifically allow someone to ping a role
wait nvm
theres a Allow anyone to @mention this role
lemme try
another issue @smoky seal
people would be able to ping the role outside the marketplace channel
wait a min
i can do auto response with dyno
sorry its not possible
You can do channel overrides as this can actually override the allow anyone to @menyion this role
How?
even if they did that, someone would prob ping all the roles unless they limit the mentions to one but if someone still attempts to ping more than one message, the message will get sent and ping all of the roles and then the message would get deleted by a bot but in the end they still pinged everyone and tbh getting pinged like every 1m-10m (exaggeration) would be kinda annoying
-# unless they use automod for mention prevention then itd work
Unless we setup a bot that posts for the user like we used to have
But then people get less customization which kinda sucks
or rsc could make a tag system and one of @modern mulch 's slash cmds could be /searchtag tag: scripter-for-hire, hiring-ui, etc. this is prob not the best way to incorporate this idea but after the user sends their msg, the bot could dm the user asking what tag it falls into and if they don't reply by doing a slash cmd to set the tag of the post, then it wont be searchable
It would be nice to see a rework of marketplace WITHOUT needing a seperate channel for each skill. there are wayyyy too many channels as it is
Would 100% suggest doing that
The less customization part all you'd have to do is make sure the bot is customizable enough
If you do it right you could actually make it more easily customizable for the user
Plus moderators would have a much easier time working with post moderation since you wouldn't have to tell users to not do this or to do that since the bot would require those things, and if you wanna just do it like HD does you can filter it through a post approval system so your mods would literally have the easiest possible time moderating the server
Alright imma lead a marketplace rework
Nothing crazy
And probably won’t completely get rid of being able to post yourself
Make it optional to use the bot
@smoky seal How about using the discord forum thing?
That allows tags.
And it deletes posts older than 10 days
That'd be good I was thinking the same at first
Imma make that first and test a beta marketplace
@smoky seal #1356283708549759148
It's hidden
whut
I can't see 💔
Now?
Yeah I posted
Huzz when am I gonna get a staff role for all these amazing suggestions 💔 @jagged mirage
Can you make one for hiring too so I can find people hiring specifically my skill
🙏
@jagged mirage Can you make the beta for hire completely public and announce it so it gets traction
Maybe just do a poll at the end of the week asking if people prefer it
hmm
alrighty
now all verified users can see the channel
next up ill open it up to non-skill roles to post
then announce it
Is there going to be one for skilled only too?
Probably not
Would you prefer one?
It’s not necessarily needed but if you can make one for people to post job openings that would be cool
Ye
Will the new thing replace completely the old channel?
For now, no.
But we plan on it.
Niceeee
You should make one for the hiring channel
