#How about we have a *Resource Exchange* channel in which people can trade their model, build asset...

this feels like it could lead to a lot of scamming
Like?
It may be possible that some people give out free models and claim it’s theirs
Or the moment someone do present their asset to trade he’s gonna take it and instantly leave
So there’s that
Is there anyway that it could be prevented?
i was mainly thinking this
as with all marketplace transactions, there isnt a for sure way to do that (otherwise my role would be useless lol)
its not a bad idea considering all marketplace ideas will likely have the risk of scamming, i just think it might be frequent
especially because new members that really want assets but dont wanna hire a modeler can just steal it from someones portfolio, say its theirs, attempt to trade it, then run off with someones asset
There should be a way in which all of it can be prevented
But we don’t know what is it
How about we make a requirement in which we need to show extremely solid proof before the trade can go any further.
And there will be a trade board in which the bot will automatically write whose traded from whom so it can stay as a record
And if any people do want to see if they stolen from another person
They can go to the channel in which the bot writes the trading transcript and search from there
And then they can if they have an asset from another person or if they are actually legit
it all feels a bit overcomplicated honestly
and even that wouldn't fully prevent scams
I mean it would help this server by a lot
its not an awful idea, but trying to prevent scamming as a whole isn't gonna work sadly
and for the amount of trouble it is, it might not even be used that much
True
It’s just a simple resource exchange channel, when someone trades with someone a transcript is written by the bot so there is record for the trading
And there is no chance that then he can act like the traded stuff is his since the bot already has a record of him
if we were to have this, it'd need to be functioned like how the rest of the marketplace is
considering we already have #💰︱selling-assets and people don't like clutter in the marketplace, it's slim to be implemented
nonetheless it's not a super bad idea
There is a difference between selling and trading
who's to say after handing over your asset, the other party hands over theirs?
Each party will hand over their asset at the same time
middleman could be a considerable factor but overall the idea might just not work
still cant force either party to use a middleman
that is, frankly, impossible to facilitate
