for making the anims/vfx or how it wroks in the game
they are particle emitters!
in that video it is completly particle emitters except for like the text that says "block broken" and stuff like that
u just use attachments and emit in one direction
easy peasy
circle effect around it is the same thing, just a circle particle that has face camera on
honestly the effects ingame arent even that crazy, so i just take the most similar one and jus play around with it
honestly since its voxel game i only use like 5-6 decals
for the particles

i use a website to convert images to pixelated versions
nah thye are just normally sized
i use resize pixel if i have an asset that isnt pixelated
and i want it to be
like the shield i used t hat website for

uhhhhh its probably different on each animation
i just try to keep it somewhat stuttery so that it still fits
but honestly you cant tell that much on some of the attacking moves
because i had to reduce it so the trails and stuff stay clean
