if you want to improve quickly get a image of something you want to build make it a decal (go to the creator dashboard>developmental items>decals) upload the image of the thing you want to build then build it
also download plug ins they make building alot quicker and easier heres what i use personally
figure out how unions work (i dident learn how to use them after almost 2 years of building so make sure you figure it out its simple as shit i just never knew what they did)

also paste the decal onto a part if your using f3x just go to decals go to the texture tool (hotkey is G) then just click front then paste the item ID

like i dont know what style your going for so this advice could be shit but heres just a image of a corner store i found on google the design of the shop is kinda plain theres not much going on so if you want to make it more interesting you could maybe fiddle with the colours and textures maybe add the little top part instead of the flat plate try and experiment

yeah its a improvement those small changes gave the build alot more character if you want to build better houses or really anything just go on google look at designs and add things you like from the designs you find online to the things you build
