A very easy way to mimic that is by using a part and using the TouchStarted and TouchEnded events

That would be detecting if the player's body entered the hitbox, and if it is in the hitbox that would be functioning the "Touchstarted", continuing the punching script until the player leaves, the TouchEnded event would be fired, stopping the increase in value.

When you come down to the basics it is. Of course it’s a scuffed version. You can also use magnitude and not use a hitbox or potentially even use raycasts (for whatever reason) but I really don’t feel like having to go in depth about those topics right now
