Im very new to scripting and need help with something

So pretty much im making a horror like game and i wanna make it so if your in the game for awhile you start getting weird affects on your screen like your going crazy or something

im new to but i think you would create something like this lua effect = ("the effect") --than youd do something like wait so at specific time it will do that wait(10) local function effect_running() (effect)

i think but im fairly new to learnin so idk

I think you'd need to first make effects with guis and the blur/saturated stuff in lighting. and a toggle true/false script to go with them
