the warning limit does need to be raised, 5 warns for a perma ban is way too low

some mods hand out warns for almost 0 reason too so it's not like it's hard to get a warning

yea but there's no fine line between what is and isn't considered unfair. I could jokingly say to toxical (my friend) "fuck you!!" and a mod could warn me for toxicity

because it's technically breaking the rules

there's other situations but i'm just trying to get a point across, mods can warn for almost 0 reason as long as it technically breaks a rule

yea, obviously right? you can appeal any type of warning but if you've ever tried to appeal a warning, you know that the mod who warned you is normally in the ticket

and this specific mod was straight up being toxic and insulting me

that's the main issue

they knew that logs didn't exist for that message so they were abusing that to make it look like i said something 10x worse than i actually did and that's the main issue

they knew that the message wasn't logged because they can see logs, i can't

this is getting off topic, my opinion is that the warning threshold should be increased because mods can warn for almost 0 reason and a lot of times it's super hard to appeal or won't get appealed 99% of the time anyways, even if the reason is super dumb

do you think warnings should automatically go away after a certain amount of time? obviously the amount of time should be lower for insignificant warnings and the amount of time should be higher for something like saying slurs in chat or posting nsfw

i said that to meex a while ago and long story short, what he told me is "no im not programming the bot to do that" and "you have to appeal it regularly"

also, if you want to appeal, you should have to open a ticket or smthng
if you make it automatically, 70% of the support staff job goes away too

Management seem quite detached from the server, so there isn't much hope. They rather entrust decisions to kids who like playing power games cause they're too busy.
The only way they could fix this is by hiring ppl who are more mature. I don't know if they're really trying even, bc a lot are below 16.

If you dealt with appeals I'd have more hope in the server, cause despite 5 warns = ban, you're reasonable enough to unban ppl if they don't deserve it

So the warns system isn't the biggest problem, it's the ppl handling appeals that should be fair.

Also the idea of warns expiring is good, I think the following system would make things fairer:

Say you get warned for a type of reason that is categorised by the server, if the user doesn't get a similar warn after 6 months, the warns of that type disappear

The discord bot could cycle through a database of everyone who has warns each month to automate that

the warns "expire" but you have to create a ticket to remove it, and we can't edit bots like dyno, only the rsc bot, which main reason is to apply blacklist or rules/refs command

It could be simplified, for example, you can still warn with Dyno, then the rsc bot saves it in a dB for the give user. Then 6 months later as the bit cycles through warns per, it can send a command through a normal discord account, to make Dyno remove the specific warn

Since bots can't use commands of other bots

But I doubt management would care even if I made it for them
