Please discuss this idea civilly, don't forget to vote on this idea in #📝︱server-suggestions!
well that would just create another massive wave of grey names in general who are spamming for levels
some people just refuse to read no matter what you do
so i doubt there is anything we can do
Wouldn't that be better in comparison? To shift over the issue to another place, that is essentially resolved by the same moderation team auditing the channels?
There's always a few fruits in there who are eager to learn.
most studio help posts are just brainless grey names looking for people to work for free
Limiting them with certain restrictions, is a sure way to get less incidents occurring.
yeah I think either a skill role or lvl5
The whole reason that people join this server is to get studio/scripting help
Why would they need to farm Levels in order to get that help
That's like gatekeeping support
because 90% of grey names only ask really stupid or unhelpful questions or hiring posts
unhelpful
no picture
nothing
do you think grey names follow rules
they dont
there is a reason this sticker exists
is because they dont care / read rules so it wont change anything
There are no rules for the forums
- rules means you can warn them if they don't do it
Simple as that
It's a measure.
It filters out the users who aren't capable of following the rules.
That's one of the prime factors on why I've suggested it at all.
it only takes a few days to get lvl 5 anyway
If they can't get LVL 5 properly, then how would you expect them to create posts properly?
This only adds on more tasks to the moderation teams, which are held accountable for it. (There's more than 222 posts in the help thread at the moment.)
By maker the users follow a procedure they'll be less likely to throw away all their progress of getting lvl 5 for some support. Since they acknowledge that if they don't have the role, they simply won't be able to ask for help
Not all gray names fill them in wrong
Your logic doesn't add up imo
90% do
They join the server for support
anyway its easy to get lvl5
anyway most of their problems can be solved by using google
I'd like to see a statistic that actually backs this up, because that's just ignorant at this point
So in this instance they should respect the servers rules, or no?
That's not true at all. The whole reason I joined this server was to get support because I couldn't find things on google
It's not in the server rules
Again, your logic doesn't add up here
I'm sure there will be rules.
That's why I've wrote it beforehand, since I expect it to be an addition.
For the moment, yes.
ok I take it back, 7/10 of the last grey name posts have been vague or unanswerable questions
Still, Grinch you haven't provided any solutions either?
Explain me why not filtering out users wouldn't help?
We can't immediately suspect that every grey name in this server came in here for help, that's just a common guess.
it takes just 1-2 days to get lvl5 so its not hard
Not true
So are there any other solutions, exempt from implementing rules?
yes it is
6/10 of the last gray name posts in #1006356488912121967 are answerable
I just checked
I just checked
3 of them have images, one has a video
The last 2 are easy to answer
Most of these posts could be solved with a google, youtube or devforum search.
However, are there any other solutions?
We're skipping over it.
can you show these 6
Playing a game rn
Let's get rid of that, perhaps?
You're showing the same one
You're only showing the ones that you cant answer
What about the other ones
these are in the last 10, and thats the point
What about the other ones, go on
Why is it that most of these grey name threads don't have an title related to their issue.
"help"
some ok as well
Again, it's not 90%, or 70%, the fact that a number of gray names are inconvenient doesn't mean every other gray name on the server should be denied help
denied help while they have a grey name
its not a permanent thing
it would just reduce unhelpful question AND even if they really need help most issues there could be asked in a creations channel
Level 5 people also have really unhelpful questions, do you think we should do that too?
You know what, you're right, we should gatekeep support to only Level 10+
sounds good
Actually, I also saw a post by a Level 10 titled "help" we should make it Level 20+
yeah sure
This seems like a bit of a far reach.
wait how about we just get rid of studio help
most of them could just be put in something like scripting
building
It's not at all, I'm just following your logic
A considerable number of Level 5s have really annoying and unhelpful titles/descriptions, so we should deny them help too right?
gui
There is no building forum
There is no gui forum
it doesnt need to be a forum
Everything that isn't related to scripting should go in #1006356488912121967
Implementation of Rules in Studio-Help would suffice.
So where do you suggest they put it
all these places
We're encouraged not to ask for help tehre
There are literally GUI and Building tags in #1006356488912121967
How are you this dense
You're meant to ask for building help there
Bruh
what has that got to do with what im saying
im saying that these can all offer help
My logic is to define the restriction based on the servers standards.
You're saying that people who need help with building should ask questions in the building channel, and not in the support forum for building, etc.
I've used the level 5 as an example, which could be an solution firsthand.
Your argument and logic are awful
yes
most people do that
I do that
loads of people do
I don't think you realize how annoying that is. The building channel isn't for building support
The #1006356488912121967 channel is
I'm done with this, you're too stubborn
Provide solutions, ladies and gentlemen.
it may not be intended for but it is
do you actually go into any of the creation channels, there are always help questions in there
anyway you have an orange name so shut
How about we sort it out by not adding restrictions, nor implementing rules. So we can have moderators fulfill more of their voluntary quota?
We require solutions.
What if we just implement rules, extend on restrictions and have an optional voluntary division under the Moderation Team that would be tasked to enforce rules inside of studio-help?
wait I just realised didnt you literally just suggest we shut of voting on suggestions until lvl 5 💀
They don't even read the rules, you think they're going to read that?
