We have been thinking about a collaboration channel before but it was too much to deal with without automation (heavy moderation is required to prevent abuse). It’s definitely something we will keep thinking about.

It's a good way to take advantage of the beginners with the aim of giving them some basic training, learning, having someone experienced here asking questions, taking them under their wing, etc...

I don't have faith in members doing this with the aim of giving them training, teaching them or taking them under their wing. Like you said yourself the game development environment is extremely exploitive (for adults, teens and children). I think a channel promoting collaboration is a good idea, but with it we need extremely strict and clear rules to prevent (where we can) that our members get used, abused or exploited in other ways and others earning from their back.

We currently don't have the capacity to do that.
