Just animate what you want, I assume you're talking about roblox. Choose if you want to R6 or R15. I find R6 to be easier in most departments, you can allow detachment of limbs to an extent and there's less pieces to have to play with, less restrictions, but the posing on it can be difficult at times. R15 is more realistic and is easier to pose. All of this is in my opinion and not fact fyi. If you're a beginner you can start with moon animator, a plugin on roblox studio. Research a video on it or if you think you can grasp things quickly, just open it and play with it. After you understand moon animator and animation a little, you have the decision of moving to blender. I advise you do at that point but you should probably focus on doing some (probably R6) animations in moon animator with a default rig using the moon animator character inserter.
I hope that made sense and sorry for the paragraph.

first ever animation with roblox- I royally messed up on timing and proportions- but I'll get better at that in time. I think I need to practice on my wind up for certain actions.
I recorded reference videos and such. But the proportions of the character didn't allow for completely realistic movement (for obvious reasons xD) the limb didn't extend far enough... so I made it into a more cartoony hop. Though that doesn't look as good 😅 I'll try some other actions and maybe redo this later!
I also actually need to learn how to use moon properly, I kinda just felt my way around the interface and there's definitely things I don't fully know how to use hah.
