i feel like having a solid "flow" (i dunno the real term for it) is important. make sure that all your objects have a weight to them, so since it's a katana, it won't be too heavy. that means there shouldn't be too much anticipation since there's no weight to create the anticipation (ykwim?). and also, if your animation feels jittery or wierd, you should track a part of it (preferrably the part that's moving mose, in your case the katana) and check if it traces a smooth path throughout your animation, (this is mostly used in 2d animation but i like to use it here) if it's smooth, then good job, your animation shouldn't be jittery. But in your case here, the path of the sword is somewhat jagged, you should try to make that path a bit more curved and fuid, that should help too/

ive been animating props/weapons by welding them to the body part with easy weld. but the problem is, if you need to animate the item going through the air or just not being joint to the body part, it's basically impossible to get a good result unless you frame-by frame adjust it. so is there a better way to animate props that allows you to animate it being held without having to track manually while also having the ability to detach it from the body without it following the body part?
