Blender does something a little strange when exporting, I don't know exactly why (4.4.3), but when exporting to FBX, it rotates the bones at the last keyframe. Sometimes it doesn't do this and exports normally. What I've done to make it “cleaner” is to export it as is, go to Moon, copy the first frame, paste it, and delete the last four keyframes before the last frame.

Depends on what terms were talking if you mean the actual bone it always stays the same place but if you were to life a heavy box for example you pull the cog to the opposite direction for weight shifting

In this case you’d move the feet to counter act the weight
Think about it like this our hips is what allows us to do larger rotations so if that becomes out of balance we’d fall over same thing when you lean too far backwards without moving your leg you’d fall

the way he's gripping the halbard switches up when he goes in for the swing
but to actually do that, the arm needs to switch from pointing up towards the sky to down to the ground
otherwise when the arm points towards the sky there's literally no leverage
to swing downwards
