Marauder worth in my situation?

Hello, im a returning player (2.4M gp) from 7 years ago so im in an old shard, i dont want to invest too much into fleets so ideally with LSTs handed out im going to build on a negotiator fleet

i want to rush GL leia, how important is marauder to negotiator/endurance fleet as investing into bad batch (3 chars + ship) that isnt usable anywhere else is kinda steep? want to make sure the value is there (just want to consistently reach top 50 not aiming for anything higher at the moment)

You NEED Maurader for any GR fleet to be decent. You could also overlap that farm for LV eventually, and at the same time that you gear and relic for LV unlock you can shard farm DS 66 Clones, or farm them earlier.
GR in general doesn't have a fixed lineup compared to Executor/Levi/Profundity. Your core ships/pilots for GR are: Endurance, Negotiator, Maurader, ETA JKA, Snips, Plo, BTL, 5s.

quick follow-up, will having it be enough to consistently push me to top 20 assuming i have everything properly geared and know how to play the team

What is your fleet shard? GR can reliably counter Executor -- between Endurance vs Nego. Not sure about the counter, but supposedly also vs Profundity. Since the reworks, less reliable vs Levi

I'm not too familiar with major counters as I run r10 Levi exclusively for FA. Most of my counters practice are in GAC/TW, and there I can afford 1-3 shots

rank 1-10 levi, rank 11-20 3 levi, 5 executors, 2 profundity aside from those it's a mixed bag all the way to top 50

You could reliably settle into top 50, and depending on timing perhaps top 20

ive inspected the 12 negotiators and like 4 endurances in the top 50 and non have marauders prompting me to ask this question here

Top 50 isn't where you make actual crystals. Top 10 is. So you'll need at least Ex or to learn the Ex / Levi / Prof counters. It takes time to master, so you'll probably fail a few times. But it's so much worth it.
