They are used from the character listing, they have their own section. They’re instant, though you could nominally save them. I think they expire though.

LST only work on old characters, so you can’t wait and put it on STL for example.

As far as uses the four I’d recommend are:

Drogan - amazing character, needed for Leia, pilot of a good ship
Raddus - solid character, needed for Profanity, really expensive (most value from the token)
Saw - kind of a meh character without the right squad (Luthen) but required for JKCK
Kyle Katarn - niche character, pilot of a decent ship, required for Starkiller.

Mon Mothma is another option I think, she’s not that good but she’s a requirement for several important things.

You can use them now and they help fit content layer

Most of the older characters don’t require kyrotech (expensive and slow to farm) and the token gets around that bottleneck so definitely want to get value there.

MM is actually another bad character not to do it (As she is also expensive as raddus)
