#What is the best way to farm G12 Components ?

  • Introduction

This week I started using a google sheet made by Kidori, to track my progress and better understand my roster and what I should do.

This spreadsheet is really good and helped me better understand the shop also, I entered all of the characters I wanted to farm and gear to the relic I want for my phase 1 and it displayed all the gear needed for it.
So I went to the database pages and studied the best way to get the components for my characters, and I think I've found a way to keep farming gear in the shop the most efficient way. I wanted to ask what you guys think about this method and if it's what you are already doing and what can be done to be more efficient.

  • G12 Components (Yellow) - MK2 Raid Tokens

Basically the last 4 cost less than the others, and this is maybe not a huge discovery, everyone noticed this I'm sure. But to add more info to those components is that the cheaper ones are the one we need the most to gear a character to G13. As an example the Mk 12 ArmaTek Fusion Furnace Prototype Salvage I need 400 of them for my phase 1 characters. (That's a lot to farm with nodes lol)

But what about the expensive ones ? Do we farm them in nodes only?
NO

  • G12 Components (Purple and Yellow) - Shard Currency

This will be the next step of my discovery, but we need to go on the shard shop and this is where the shop is very well designed. The ones I marked in red are the cheaper one of the G12 components in the shard shop, and guess what ? Those are the ones that cost really high with MK2 Raid tokens, and are much less needed for G12 Characters. (some exception tho, like the purple G12 that are a lot more needed but it's the next step) As an exemple, the Mk 12 ArmaTek Visor Prototype Salvage is one of the components you can buy with shard currency and for my phase 1 characters I only need 60 of them. I prefer focusing on yellow since I don't have enough shard currency

  • G12 Components (Purple only) - Guild Event MK1

Since we need a lot of G12 Purple gear, we can't just wait to get them in TW, TB, or other event in the game, it is not sufficient, when we add shard shop to farm those, it goes a little bit faster. But still, it's very slow, as an example, for my phase 1 characters I need 440 MK8 Nubian Security Scanner Salvage. This is a lot, that means buying 110 times from the shard shop, it's nearly 40k shard currency, this is month of farming. So as a complement, I found in the Guild Event Shop that those G12 Purple components can be bought and they are not that expensive.
It's a dilemma since we need this currency for Malak and GAC but if you are done or far from either of those character this is the best way to use this currency.

What do you think about this way of acquiring G12 Gear, is there a better way of getting those ? Is this one the most efficient way of spending those 3 currency ?

Thanks for reading 😄

I read it all! 😅

It sounds like you're analyzing your way properly. Using ALL available means of acquiring the gear for G13 is how I do it. But as you've noted, there are more and less efficient ways to spend. Anything needed that costs 360 shard shop currency is a deal. Hoarding the cantina, squad, fleet, and galactic war currencies helps to have the shard shop currency on hand when a preferred piece refreshes in the shard shop. All of my squad arena, galactic war, and cantina currency goes solely to shard shop currency. Put any characters you're farming with those currencies on hold in order to have more and achieve faster.

Also, you'll need to factor in the kyrotech grind as well. And definitely analyze the wide range of efficiencies in acquiring it with the various currencies. 2000 mk 2 guild currency for 5 kyrotech salvage is awful compared to other means.

Idk if I wrote anything helpful, but figured I'd share. If getting characters to G13 is your goal, tho, I'd suggest putting all else on hold and focusing all resources on this goal. Pick one thing and do it well and to completion. Cheers!

You use squad arena on characters ? not on prestige ?
I use this currency only on prestige or on 1 components that can be found in the squad arena shop.

What I found for kyrotech is essentially to farm LS7:B only, and spending currencies on the MK9. Also, to help farm only kyro, I've found that the second 360 SSC components in the Shard shop, is always a piece that can be farmed with basic energy, so to avoid ever going in another node and not getting those daily kyro MK7, I'll focus this piece in the shop and ensure I got all those purple pieces from there.

My account's in a state that I don't really need prestige for a while and have over 2k saved anyway:

If prestige is something pressing for you, you're right that squad currency is needed there.

Farming kyro from its energy nodes sure is a long, hard road.

Just noticed this and thought I would go into detail on ways you can utilize the tabs in it.

The Farming - Planning tab in the Companion has sections at the bottom for helping you figure out where to farm gear, relics, shards, and scrap from. It also has a Value column that compares how much currency it takes to your income of that currency to let you know which one you can easily get the most from. The higher the value the more of that currency you will have left over to get more or other things. You set your resource income on the Collection - Resource Income tab.

The Unit and Gear Lookup section at the bottom of the Planning tab lets you search all locations for specific items and see which place has best values to get them from. The location, level and cost lookups section let you look at all items in a specific store, by currency, or up to a specific player level to see what is avaliable and how the values for each item look. This is typically better than going through the Database sheets, although that is still an option.

Once you determine the places you want to get gear from, keeping gear crates from any events in mind, you would set them as favorite on the Database - Gear Location tab. After you have done this the locations will appear on the Farming - Gear tab so you can choose how much or many times to spend on them. It will then show you days to earn and have a total of all required resources. At the top of each section (Relic/Gear) it will have a breakdown of all required resources and comparisons with your current amount and average accumulation (based on Collection - Resource Income)
