It's just a simple fact. You still have a chance if you just focus on building towards a GL ship like Executor, which should get you to a point where you can earn a decent crystal income

$10, or many months working on a GL that will make a huge difference for you in GAC and thus your crystal income? Your decision.

Probably the SLKR one so you can get the GL

I wanted to add from experience: you can climb back up but it will take time. I returned to my 8 years old account on #1300 squad arena and after some focused farming and the slkr lsb I'm at #194 now.
Fleet arena goes a bit slower but as the other have said: with a gl ship you can get into the top 50
