The only questionable thing was farming geos in the middle of everything.

Yeah geos should not be skipped, and honestly working them as soon as possible is best for your fleet situation early on

The team is honestly one of the best early. GBA leads gives huge tankiness and the team have a huge health/prot recovery so they're a pain to kill

If you are L60+, then focus on fleet. Farm character + ship shards before fully investing gear. Follow a guide from YouTube or Twitch

Are ships extreamly important? They aren't that fun...... They take forever to unlock.

Yes, the crystals you get from fleet arena helps a lot. Try to find your shardchat too, always good to be friendly in fleet arena, makes everything easier
