Hi all. Can anyone point me in the direction of a simple "what to do next" guide after buying the hyperdrive bundle? I had Google Play credits so used them. Trouble is I am an absolute Noob at these kinds of games, and I am utterly overwhelmed by the content in the game and the crazy number of vids online. YouTube vids I have watched so far seem to speak so much jargon that I just don't understand it. 36y/o single dad in case you're wondering what my gamer level is 😂

Anyway you should be focusing on fleets early on as that's where most crystals come from

Start farming up a geonosian team and their ships, it's the easiest road

Get a Phoenix team up to unlock Emperor and Thrawn

That's a good start

Just know that squad arena doesn't reward crystals anymore, grand arena does
(grand arena is more fun anyway)

I've got my Phoenix team up to 6 stars, but Thrawn is challengin to say the least! Need to get to grips with the combinations of moves etc....

Thrawn is the difficult event between him and palpetine but they are both good toons

For 7* Thrawn you need at least gear 8 Phoenix team

And level 82 or above

And some decent modding

It's not an easy event if your mods are bad some people overgear the team to get through it

I overgear phoenix because I didn't have the credits to mod them properly

I've been doing the mod levels and just getting the game to auto apply the mods, as i figure it will chose the best ones out of what i have??

If you feel the need to put more gear on them for the event, best is to funnel it to Ezra

Helpful to watch a mods guide if you have time, but rule of thumb is: always 5 dot mods and always aim to have a speed secondary on them

If your mod doesn't have a speed secondary stat it's 99% trash and good for sale

You want to get high speed secondaries on your mod sets

I got a 19 speed secondary on a potency triangle with just upgrading it to lvl 12

My work colleague persuaded me to get the HDB and then added me to his super strong guild, but i wasn't able to do anything as i didn't have any 6*/7*. They also seem to be a bit of a closed group as well. SO I'm wondering whether to leave and try and find a more noob friendly one, or stick with them? Don't want to offend my colleague after he added me.

The only exception to the speed rule is the arrow mod that you want to get a speed primary on, all others can only have speed secondary

Stay in the strong guild

The better the guild the more rewards you get in game

I feel like I got lucky with the guild I'm in I'm in a huge alliance but even at the lowest guild I'm in it's still heroic every raid

I'm in an alliance guild as well and supper happy...got only 1.5m GP but able to do LS Geo with them

You have 4 territory battles in the game, light side and dark side Hoth and light side and dark side geonosia

Ls geo is hardest

Basically doing geo TB is what you aim for in order to get best rewards

Hoth is ok for a new player but it's kinda outdated atm and for catching up Geo is more important and also for getting GET2 currency

You'll figure it out over time

You will learnt it over time I was the same I took months to learn it and some of it I still don't understand some of it

Yea it's a learning curve... you'll see people using abbreviations for most characters in game which is annoying at first

After a while you start figuring it out and stop paying attention

But ye when you see people talk about JKL JML BAM GG it gets annoying real fast

Yea this is a game where progress is measured on monthly and even yearly level

You will spend months on some projects

The HDB gets you all excited because it spunks so much stuff at you and then you have a great time, then it just stops and you're on the grind!

I think HDB is best value for money even if you have every character in the bundle....the amount of gear is absurd

Imo take your time to plan your path...watch some guides, have a mental outline of teams you want to build...and only then start spending credits-gear-ability mats

Do not spread too thin

Work on like 2 teams max at a time

And don't neglect the fleet it's the biggest difference maker in the game being able to get crystals from fleet arena

I am getting #1 in fleet for a month now and that's 12,000 free crystals I get to spend on refreshes...it allows me to build my acc insanely fast

i got 400,000 GP in month and a half

So ye fleet is probably the most important thing you can focus on early game

Mods in particular seem like a mountain to climb, but they are probably the most important part of the game. If you don't understand mods, everything else in the game is harder. Feel free to ask specific questions, but in additon to the other comments on mods, if you ever want to check what mod sets to place on a character, google "swgoh [character name] mods" and it should give you a link to the characters swgoh.gg page for mods

That'll tell you what sets the top players use
