I just received this mouse and went to adjust it. It was tight at first, but the moment I unscrewed it, it wouldn't screw back into anything, while meanwhile being all the way in the mouse. Now I can't get the screw out, turning it does nothing. I wasn't rough while turning the screw or anything, but it's just not turning at all. I don't think it's stripped, I don't even feel it screwing against anything. I think whatever thing it screws into got dislodged or something, literally on my first screw somehow.
#Wired Scimitar Elite adjust screw seems to not be screwing into anything

Is it loose at all, where a magnetized screwdriver can pull it?
Also, the 4 screws to open it up are under the footpads, the nut that's visible is to adjust the side button location
I tried putting a neo magnet on the end of the provided screwdriver, but even that couldn't pull it out
Right. I'm just trying to adjust the side button location. Or rather, tighten it.
The nut is in all the way, but it's not tight.
Yeah it won't come out, but you should be able to tighten it. Are the side buttons just loose now or are they holding in place?
Just loose. Even if I try to tighten or loosen it, the nut's just not moving besides turning.
If you can't get it to tighten at all, you have a couple options. You could RMA it/return it and try a new one, or you could just remove the feet, unscrew it and make sure the internals are correct, but considering this is a new mouse for you I probably wouldn't open it up already.
I had debated opening it up, but the glue is REALLY on there.
I'm looking at a teardown right now for it, and seeing the internals I don't see what could've dislodged it, if you apply even pressure and turn it should tighten up, the bolt may actually be stripped. And it looks like it should require very minimal turning to tighten so if it's just spinning freely that's less than ideal
Likely a faulty unit, I would return to where you bought it from and get a new one or contact Corsair support for an RMA on it. https://help.corsair.com/ I'd hate to have you open it and find out it's something you can't personally fix anyways
I know it's probably not recommended, but I did try using paper towel. >.>
And it actually works extremely well. If I found something that looked nicer to do the same thing with, I might.
I suppose that also works lol
