#3x front fans on 5000D don't get recognized in iCue

I've built this system late 2023, it had no issues regading the fans and the RGB that comes with it. Recently a few days ago I realized Commander Core wasn't being recognized, and the usual flashes of all the fans when iCue boots up didn't flash the front 3x fans anymore.

I have not been able to change or turn off the RGB or control the fan speeds on it ever since. Tried reinstalling iCue several times, tried SignalRGB to see if that will fix it. Looked everywhere regarding the issue and I cannot seem to find a proper solution.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

i suggest firstly to remove any other software that may interfere with icue, namely signalrgb, hwinfo, aida64 etc. i'd also try repair/reinstall (but since you did that already), uninstall with revo uninstaller/reinstall. if that doesnt work either, it might be either a connection problem and/or power, or a toasted controller.

Actually I realized its the rgb hub actually the one thats not showing up, not the commander pro. Considering all the fans for the cooler actually light up plus the extra one i added there

#

Tried replugging the USB 2.0 plug, same with all 3x fan plugs to no avail.

the rgb hub = the commander pro. the rgb hub does not show in icue

#

revo uninstaller is a free software used to uninstall programs

Also make sure that the connection on the hub is synchronous, if you for example have 1 & 2 occupied, but skipped 3, and then have 4, 5, 6, only the first 2 will work.

No, an RGB hub is not the same as a Commander Pro.
There is the original RGB Fan LED Hub, which is a dumb distribution device.
There is the Lighting Node Core, which will often have "RGB Hub" on the casing (just to confuse everyone)
Commander Core and Commander Core XT have an RGB hub but are much more than that and not referred to as a RGB Hub.

that, or a tp software is fiddling with icue. in any case its been 3 days and yet to respond so i'm guessing he probably fixed it

my apologies, been busy so haven't been able to reply! i'll show ya my icue and the devies of the rgb hub and commander core. i still have the same issue, haven't tried to do some fixing since then. i had hwinfo installed and signalrgb, but uninstalled it a while ago trying to fix the issues. figured that commander core is actually just working fine, considering all my fans are ajustable thats plugged into it, including the cooler block. the smaller rgb hub that came with the case is the one controlling the three front fans, i never had ajusted them really until they just stopped being recognized from icue. after that just resuited the plugs and stuff for it to no avail, even the USB plug for it.

#

again sorry for a late reply

OK, you have a Lighting Node Core (came with the case) and a Commander Core. And it's the Lighting Node Core that is the problem? Do you have an open slots on the Commander Core for RGB? Honestly, if so, that'd be the best thing to do. Minimize the devices and centralize RGB control into one device.
Also ... is that the Commander Core or the Commander Core XT? I'm assuming that it's the "Core" and it came with a cooler but please correct me if that's wrong.

And if you want to review the names for the different devices, see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQRdMICK-qQ.

DevBiker goes over the different Corsair RGB Controllers and what they are called.

If it came with the cooler, it is not the XT variant. It's the regular Commander Core.

unborn bobcat
#

Ahh okay in that case then.

#

But again, I don't have enough plugs for all 3x fans on the Commander core with the cooler fans +1 additional i have with it

rustic latch
#

Right. Now ... how is the LNC connected to the system? Direct to a USB header or are you using the splitter that comes with the CoCore?

unborn bobcat
#

I'm trying to remember, I don't believe I'm using the splitter? Unsure, built this as my first rig back in November. It used to never have fan issues whatsoever until now recently after messing around getting hwinfo and stuff, just stopped being recognized in iCue

unborn bobcat
#

Never changed anything on the LNC, considering it came with the case

rustic latch
#

OK. Try swapping the ports for the LNC and the CoCore. Let's eliminate a USB port as the issue.

unborn bobcat
#

How'd you like to me swap them? Like the usbs for them or?

queen cloak
#

turn your pc off first, then switch them.

#

yes the usb headers

#

also make sure all connections are properly in while you're at it

unborn bobcat
#

nothing new happened, still doesn’t come up on icue. so we can rule that off as an issue @rustic latch

rustic latch
#

And I take it that the Commander Core shows up?

unborn bobcat
#

these two are up

rustic latch
#

And how long have you had it?

unborn bobcat
#

h150i has all the fans the commander core has in them

unborn bobcat
#

When I built this system

rustic latch
#

OK, that'll still be will within warranty. File a ticket for a replacement LNC.

#

Your other alternative is to get a RGB Fan Splitter and run all of them from the CoCore. But the RMA would be free AND keep things as you had them.

unborn bobcat
#

I think I'll try to file a ticket yeah, I think I should have a warranty and all

#

I'd assume on the corsair's website?

queen cloak
#

what is the red one notice showing ?

#

also both devices run in hardware mode

queen cloak
#

i mean i see them so he should too. unless they're not connected properly.

#

by any chance @unborn bobcat can you show us the connections ? pictures
