anyone able to assist with a H170i LCD AIO, icue went completely nuts on me and now I can't get it to populate in icue no matter what I do
I ran a repair, did an unistall and reinstalled, repaired again, disconnected a few different times, multiple restarts and shut downs, forced a firmware update, checked for software updates and nothing will get it back in icue
can see it's there but will not show up in icue

H170i LCD vanished from ICUE.

Also swapped in a different link hub controller

inland kettle
#

So I swapped out a LINK Controller and DID NOT update it's firmware and now how control of the AIO again, so 1 of 3 things, either 1.5 week old controller failed or as firmware update bricked the controller or firmware update cased an issue to make the link hub no longer have the AIO work with ICUE correctly

I had a link controller. Bought 3 sets of 3 pack fans and each had one and got one with the cooler. Only needed 2 so have 2 spare

glad raft
#

damn, I have the same problem with my custom cooled stuff (LINK)

#

I think I (hopefully) have ONE on hand, but Im not paying $200+ dollars because corsair can't do basic debugging

@inland kettle Do you have the USB cable plugged into a splitter or directly into your motherboard? Most of the time I've seen people have issues with the LCD not appearing is that they're using the splitter. If you plug it directly into your motherboard, it should fix it from not appearing

The LCD Upgrade Kit comes with a splitter, but that thing has always caused issues I've seen

#

Oh I'm just noticing you have the LINK version, and not the older one

inland kettle
#

Mobos also only have 2 total 2.0 hubs, so using them for just the AIO kinda makes using pretty much anything Corsair impossible

#

Have you tried reseating the LCD?

inland kettle
#

Can’t do that. It’s an AIO. Not an add on

grizzled spear
#

It should still be able to pop off

#

I would still highly go against using this to plug the LCD USB cable into

#

Plug it directly into the motherboard

Happen again this morning and I was already in the middle of doing that swap. It’s current on the provided splitter cable and connected to the MOBO. It appeared correctly after I did the swap and made sure the power was disconnected and discharged. Turned on before I left for work to see if it was still working correctly and nope, red triangle again.

I would recommend an nzxt or Corsair usb hub if you really need the extra ports

inland kettle

inland kettle
#

Then the Corsair H170i and the 1st Corsair Link Hub are going to the Corsair provided splitter 2.0 cable which is connected to the MOBO

#

So both 2.0 headers on the MOBO are being used

#

In order to not use the cable then I need to put in another 4 port hub which would put things back to a hub and split more

#

The Link hubs and the 2.0 hub also have a run directly to the PSU. The LED hubs do not have or need the additional power

It really seems like I might need to agains unplug the AIO header, go into the icue hub and open the software and firmware and delete and AIO’s I see and then power down, turn off PSU, unplug PSU, discharge the power, plug in the AIO 2.0 header, plug in the PSU, turn on the PSU, power up, then check and see if it’s running properly

inland kettle
# glad raft yeah this update is pretty buggy for firmware NGL

Is has to be something with the software mixing up my AIO cause 1 time it thinks it’s a H170i RGB, and then later thinks it’s a H170i LCD. So last ditch effort is to do what I typed above and then see if it works and if not wait for Corsair to get their suite right and when they do never ever ever update again

glad raft
#

although, it was due to the hubs being faulty firmware-wise

#

might be a fix, but IIRC you tried that

inland kettle
glad raft
#

did you update the firmware on them?

inland kettle
#

Also 1 hub has old firmware I’m currently using and other has new firmware which is there but not connected

#

The other Link hub (#2) is running fans with latest firmware and good to go

glad raft
#

the new firmware emps the hub

#

you might wanna RMA it

#

oh, and do refrain from pinging me on weekdays

inland kettle
#

Link hub 1 old firmware running AIO, additional Link hub new firmware not connect was running AIO but won’t show the AIO, Link hub 3 runs fan, Link hub 4 NIB

glad raft
#

it's useless, i'd rma it if I were you

inland kettle
#

RMA what? The hub with the new firmware that I’m not using?

#

I have a Link hub without the new firmware already

#

And I’m using that old firmware hub

inland kettle
#

So no need to RMA

#

I have extra hubs

glad raft
glad raft
inland kettle
#

In the future can update the hub with the current firmware just cause.

#

So I have plenty of parts and multiple options, it’s strictly icue

inland kettle
glad raft
#

let alone organization

inland kettle
#

Then next they’ll say we’ll RMA a new AIO. I’ll be like hahaha, going to do the same thing and what, rip out mine and wait 2-3 weeks for the process with no cooler so a $7,180 paper weight

inland kettle
# glad raft they can't even do basic debugging

If they want to RMA me a new cooler and then I swap them when it arrives no problem but will be complete hell to rip out the current and mail and wait. I’d have to go to microcenter, bestbuy or Amazon and buy one and return it after the RMA process was completed and I have the replacement

glad raft
inland kettle
#

And the RMA process doing that will do nothing since it’s firmware/software

So currently the AIO is back correctly and running for 24hrs as intended. I have not powered off the PC since it returned the display correctly so an over-night power off might make the issue reappear, kinda scared too actually.

-Firmware-
AIO - Pump display, v. 0.1.0.21
Link System Hub - iCUE controller, v. 1.3.302 (out dated and didn’t update)

-Software-
AIO - LCD Cap for LINK Coolers - Pump display, v. 5.11.96
AIO - LINK cooler pump LCD - Lighting node, v. 5.11.96
AIO - LINK H170i RGB - Liquid cooler, v. 5.11.96
Link System Hub - iCUE controller, v. 5.11.96

I did these following steps:

  1. Unplugged the AIO 2.0 splitter header cable from MOBO 2.0 header port
  2. Went into the icue hub and open the software and firmware and delete ALL AIO’s and AIO caps I saw
  3. Powered down the PC
  4. Turned off PSU
  5. Unplugged the PSU
  6. Discharged the power by hold the power button for 10-30sec
  7. Waited 1-2 minutes just because why not…..
  8. Plugged in the AIO 2.0 splitter header back to the MOBO 2.0 header port
  9. Plugged in the PSU
  10. Turned on the PSU
  11. Powered on the PC
  12. Logged in a opened ICU and checked and see if the AIO was running properly

I’ll continue to hope this fixed it and when I get the nerve to power it off over-night will post if it held the display and settings correctly.

So again, powered down over night and back to red triangle

Im having this issue with the h150i what’s your firmware for the commander core XT

-Software-
AIO - LCD Cap for LINK Coolers - Pump display, v. 5.11.96
AIO - LINK cooler pump LCD - Lighting node, v. 5.11.96
AIO - LINK H170i RGB - Liquid cooler, v. 5.11.96

#

if you do a shutdown you run the risk of going back to the triangle again, annoying but mine works and I will not shut if off until later after a new ICUE suite is released

#

Mine now when running that profile

Or a static image for another profile, little shameless plug there too, Silvikk_TV on twitch
