Motor mounts and headers completed. Need to check all (16) spark plugs and wires. It's running a little rough almost a very light miss fire when I took the E55 home yesterday. Feel so good to be driving back on the M113 motor.

I drove a lot of cars in the low to mid luxury segment when we were car shopping like the 535i, 335i, ES350, GS350, IS350, C350 and the mercedes E class was the best one. 535 was very sporty but just felt awkward and lower quality

I love my E350 and even though its 11 years old it still drives better than a lot of luxury cars today. Bought it used for 45k and now its worth about 15k with 101k miles. Still would take my E350

And only reason im not replacing it is cause i spent a lot of money on this. 3LT Z51 with mag ride

I can answer this question from my perspective since I been a Benz owner for over 16 years. Since I got my first one CLK500 with the M113 N/A V8 5.0L the last year of the 5 speed transmission. The CLK was the most reliable vehicle I have ever own. I own it for 14 plus years. So I traded it in for the GLE43 because I need a family vehicle. I got tired of putting my son in his car seat in the back of the CLK. I still have my GLE43 M276 V6 3.0L Bi-Turbo and I ended up getting a E55 since I miss the M113 motor and this one have the factory Kompressor. It does not take allot to increase the power with a simple ECU tune to unlock the potential these vehicle have.

Something to add the Benz online community forums helped me allot on DIY when I was a newbie. Now I help out on the forums. The Benz community are down to earth people mostly are all older people with family’s.

First time I discover a CD changer behind the control switch (heated seats, rear shade blind, flashers, etc.) in my E55. Need to find that misfire. Found out the previous owner did replace the spark plugs. Now I'm leaning toward the coil pack. Need to get my scanner to figure out which cylinder is misfiring. I have plenty of left over coil packs, plug wires from my old CLK in my part bin.

It seems too expensive for the low performance you get in the sedan. For 100k you get same engine from lower models. And i just looked up used ones and yeah theyre losing 10-15k per year in depreciation

idk ive driven a cla250 and gla250 and they were some of the worst cars ive driven. cla was worse in quality than a new honda accord EXL and same price. gla250 i had as a loaner and car was just having trouble finding the right gear to be in and was just bad handling

im sure amg variants got great performance but you cant upgrade that low quality interior unless you move up to C class

Well, fun morning. Took the van into a friends garage, swapped out the intercooler from the little one in the photo to the larger one, only difference is mine doesn't have Airtec written on it.

Swapped some injectors to some higher flow rate ones, BOV fitted and an intermediate map flashed onto it. Old map was 123BHP 200Nm torque, current one is 160BHP with 280Nm torque.

Blocks are known to take 240BHP on stock internals, only going for around 180BHP. But not shabby for a tiny little van with a 1.4 engine

There was a 180hp version of my car but the only ones near by were automatic and the insurance was closer to 4k so 130hp will be fine for now

Spark plugs are easy once you start getting into the V8 - V12 motors like the M113 (V8) the hardest plugs are the one closer to the firewall. The M113 have (2) plugs per cylinder. Total of 16 plugs.
