That is my position actually 😅 Personally, I wouldn’t find much fun in fighting the NPCs

imo, keeping areas without effort in low contest areas is unfair to others - having some active gameplay in conqueror's guild is warranted

^ if they have to be contested to get rewards, I don't really see how it's unfair. I could travel 100 or 1000 miles away on a trip and keep my settlements that are in the middle of nowhere in an uncontested area because it's not close to my OT. I don't see how the unfair argument holds up
Since areas need to be contested to generate rewards, I truly don’t see the issue. Either they’re being contested and the player is being successful in defending them (and therefore has earned them), or they’re not being contested (and therefore aren’t causing unfairness) and will eventually stop generating rewards
Assuming it is a "Contested" state that refreshes income generation and not just interaction of some sort. (I am not sure how this actually functions) Wouldn't it be an advantage to be able to periodically refresh income from settlements near your own OT by retaking them?

the difference is that nearby settlements always contribute to your rewards. this example includes far settlements, so it would not be the same comparison
if you and i own the same amount of nearby settlements, and you are in a low contest place while i am in high contest, you are at an advantage - i need to go out constantly to defend, you would not
NPC takeovers ensure we both have an active piece with respect to nearby settlements

Still not a fan of being contested by NPCs just for the sake of it, but I do understand the reasoning behind it
Again, if it’s a low radius and the option to maintain settlements isn’t prohibitively expensive I’m not really bothered by it

Though, now that I look at it better, it doesn’t seem like a timer reset, but more like a 1 day protection period

I’d be more of a fan if this worked more like Upkeep and reset the timer instead of delaying it for a day (assuming I’m reading this right)
I wonder if an enterprising sort of person could find someone's OT by triangulation if the NPC-retake radius is known. That being said, I trust NF to have the origin of the circle be randomized near the OT, and/or the radius to be somewhat randomized as well. Historically NF has been excellent about preventing in-game OT doxing.
It would take quite a lot of observation over time and extrapolation of data, however I do think it would be possible for someone who lived in the same general area. Then again I am pretty sure people who live in the same area might already have some idea of that now.
It's pretty obvious where local people live currently based on the territories they take when you can see their OT (even without seeing any OT buildings if it's a neighborhood territory) for any player that is heavily invested. Ofc in a large city it'll be much harder to pinpoint an exact house, but rural areas are extremely obvious with or without territories being taken. Seems like it would be harder to triangulate with settlements because it's very noticeable without triangulation atm. Guess that's the benefit of settlements being randomized and not laid out like the current territories
In their current state, they are too expensive. I'm waiting to see if it's updated. I have 4,504 proofs of conquering only after tons of crowns taken and there is no way I could activate them with any regularity at 1,000+ proofs a pop.
Fair, I hadn’t considered that. Having something that only pertains to nearby territories scale with both near and far away territories doesn’t make much sense
Did I miss somewhere someone said that the ramparts only affects nearby ones? The description sure sounded like it affected all of them
@rapid fossil npcs only take nearby settlements, so this rampart is only useful for nearby settlements

Ah, gotcha. And @jolly sable, since Crownguards also protect against them, I've been wondering if the Spiked Barricades are even necessary. I suppose it's just an alternative, or maybe the crownguards are a smaller protect chance.
And 2 of the crownguards also last for 24h, effectively overshadowing the spiked barricades. I’d propose changing the spiked barricades to “resets the timer before NPCs start challenging for your settlements”, at least then they’d have their own niche

I am still unclear if it's even worth taking multiple crownships. I see that I get additional rewards but is it worth the investment?
It depends on what you deem as "worth it". To some people, yes, its worth the time spent. To others, no.
I guess I should ask what is the actual return. Say you get 10 orns from owning a settlement. What is the decrease for each teir? Like 10,5,3,2,1 for example?

I believe it's the same amount for owning any one of the crowns and diminishing returns on multiple crowns of the same settlement. If I remember correctly.
I guess I'm just trying to determine what the D R is because I don't want to spend 15 minutes per settlement if the return is not worth it
Well I think at that point your goal would be to get stronger to make it worth your time. I can clear out a whole settlement and choose the rewards in 20-30 seconds. Which makes it quite worth it (if they remove these caps before live, that is. Otherwise it won't be worth the time in regards to rewards, at least)
if it is worth it to take one crownship, by the same argument it's worth it to take the other four at the same settlement.
I think the diminishing returns on rewards is across all crownships. Not specific to the crownships within one settlement. ||But Odie won't just tell me 😭||
It should be the case that you get the same daily rewards by owning the top crownship of 5 settlements as you do from owning all the crownships of 1 settlement. Just cares about total count (and is diminished, such that rewards don't scale linearly with total crownships).

I could do without stacking, I want to see a chance to get one of each shrine. How can I plan for it if I get the wrong shrine?

I know there are a few random drops (daily chest? or town hall) that also give you a shrine that if you did not plan for, then too bad
The daily chest one says it gives you a shrine, but there's no effect. It's odd

iirc it was said that economy adjustments will happen during the live beta period
They have gotten adjusted a couple of times since, and ended up here. I suppose it's up to the studio to make further adjustments, but going live in HoA doesn't leave me extremely hopeful. I guess we'll see.

Between the two pet choices I don't see a reason to pick the Amarok? Everything is the same but the Oslo includes bears might?
You won't be able to negate def/res-- from the bears might so oslo might be better for tankier builds
the summon amarok/oslo spells mana cost should probably be reduced. 500 is a bit high

Unless it's one of the few areas there are no natural spawns in sight, it sure looks like real-world-correlating spawns factored into the spawn rate of non-correlating settlements. So, yes in more populated areas there could be more, but you're not going to have natural spawns on top of that making it super over board. It's more than usual, which is kind of neat

Lol, I played the regular beta with the beta client a bit. I've had all my gear for all the tiers for my main live client ready. But now I'm told I'll have to wait even longer and it's NOT just due to apple this time. 😦
I understand that I may have had to wait a few days longer than Android, but this delay is on a whole different level. I'd rather the update be pushed with the understanding that conquerors is in Beta-ish and will prob need to be tweaked frequently.
The issue is that players not active on Discord won't have that understanding
Given the limited testing in the Open Private Beta, it wouldn't necessarily be a good idea for NF to suddenly spring a potentially buggy update on every unsuspecting player.
This is a large update, so we'll definitely want to get it fully tested and fixed up before pushing to the stable channels. I understand the frustration of other players seemingly having a head start, but we will still want to do the responsible thing

Guys help, I tried out the beta version of orna but didn't like it and after change it still acts as if I'm in beta (the conqueror's guild is built but can't enter it and I can't see exploration or control areas)

The badges are mostly incremental
Although given in the thousands each 1000 interval has a badge, I'm surprised 60k doesn't.
Mingus hasn't switched to the new system yet so we don't know if 70k is an interval

I didn't follow the pre-beta discussion much, but I thought it was said at one point that there would always be at least one settlement visible, and there would be on average 1 settlement for every three current/old "circles". I traveled about 300 miles today, and most of the time there were none visible, 3 at most. My hometown has none. Makes me sad.

You can't see item equiped on OS in smith/jeweller/titan shop ...anywhere. You have to unequip them to re-adorn, upgrade.... 😢
Does ward calculation follow different rules on OS?

My total ward mult is x5,93
(helm x1,38 - body x1,33 - shoes x1,4 - offhand x2,22 - weapon x1,04)
So my ward should be 29,1k ...but...
EDIT: Ok...it currently calculate the ward ONLY from base healt/mana, not taking in account equip stats. Putting it into bugs.
Base HP is 3240, MP is 550. So (3240+550)/2=1895 (=naked ward)
1895x5,93=11 242 (ward on screen)

I understand the patch size and not wanting to push something unstable on the unsuspecting players on here. Then I'm gonna ask that the conqueror part be reset when it becomes available for Apple. The current beta players can conquer a LOT of territory and hold it. Especially when a chunk of the player base is not able to fight back. That's not to mention the new conqueror guild rewards. Maybe those should be reset as well? I mean, how long is this beta expected to last, especially when we still have the delay of when Apple finally gets the final patch? That's a LOT of gain in a new system compared to the Apple players.
If that's going to reset then I don't see a point of interacting with this guild

If player can conquer the settlement, he will do it no matter if you hold it or no. If NPC hold it or othersoul hold it.
IMO there should be reset when it comes to live version. Bot which one? Idk, probably resetting only guild experience and proofs to zero?
Resetting it would discourage peeps form engaging in it tho - which is the reason why it came to live beta
That's why I wouldn't reset the settlement you are holding, so you will have big headstart when it comes to live. 😉
But given more time in this headstart mode, it becomes a lot harder for others NOT in this head start mode to get territory. Part of the nice thing about this switch is the boost in resources. Then there is the simple fact that you can conquer and keep SO MUCH MORE territory if you don't have to fight off all those you normally have to fight off. Especially when it everyone else can join in and you already have the crowns for all the defenses/upgrades/skills/followers/whatnot. Those not in the beta have a harder fight to conquer your territories than NPCs. Then they take longer to get the resources to make it an easier fight.
I would honestly have rather played with my live account and in live mode even knowing it was gonna be reset just to try it out and learn what works best with my current account/gear.
I'd say just buy an android device then, but it really isn't the andorid players fault that IOS has bad beta version control, so NF can't really release it the same as on andorid -> but the blame on Apple honestlyy

This was the reason X years ago "live beta" was canceled. And only "closed beta" worked. But in "closed beta" was only really only few ppl...and Odie had no real data.
And once he realeased it to live (without "live beta"), BIG MESS happened several times .... 🙂
So Live beta is needed. You need ppl to "pay" for their participation (aka have them the content and their results).
Difference between iOS and android "live beta" realease is neglible.
Difference between "live beta" a "live version" game can be big.
But I don't think a live beta discussion should be about this tho

- Does it really matter? People that are going to hold the territory a few ~weeks in advance will either have their territory taken by you once you have access to it; or, they will be too strong for you to take it from them. But both of those options would've happened if both players got the patch at the same time. So I can't see the difference

Even still I find that to be a tad unnecessary, as that brings nearly no advantage to those players. A few weeks headstart isn't going to keep them in the lead of the leaderboards for long

I think they're a bit delayed to spawn because they're being newly generated. When I was out exploring yesterday there would often be settlements behind me that werent there when I was coming up on where they were

I went "there and back again" and only found settlements I had already conquered on the way back.
something similar happened in my area ( i have a museum and an acuarium nearby). But then i have people from my kingdom complaining that there is nothing for them nearby (in Latin America)

There seems to be an issue when there are many small landmarks/parks.
Someone posted a zoo earlier where each animal enclosure is it's own OSM "Park", and each had a settlement
right, so all that regions settlements would be in that area only
In my experience so far this isn't harming rural play (as intended), but there have been reports from people that seem to be on the edge of one of these "regions" and have all their stuff pulled 1-2km away according to the scouthawk
Obviously, we as players don't know how big the regions are or how they're split
Well, it is ~7 km to my local zoo and I met 2 settlemets during that way. But the zoo ...... 
It's interesting how different the reports from people are. There's a bit of a cluster of settlements in the center of my "city", but I do still see regular settlements along the road out of town, which has no parks or landmarks on it at all.
Maybe I'm in an ideal spot for it to work correctly, because I live in a city surrounded by desolate nothingness? 😅
I will be in train tomorrow for 120 km long way. Few little cities, but usally empty areas. Will see...
For a fun fact, I have yet to encounter any settlements outside of that cluster
In my case, the green areas do literally have no real roads.

Not a fan of everything being so heavily influenced by landmarks. If the landmark drags the entire settlement region to that landmark that's lame. And just asking for everyone to pile up in one area which can potentially cause real life conflict between players that have in game disputes

Hard to say. In my case specifically, landmarks don't seem to be dragging settlements/monuments from very far
I can see the cluster and I can still see spawns not linked to the cluster but not far from it either

Yes you had the option to name it that. I'm not renaming these and they have the legitimate name of the place it's located. Not everyone wants that. I would change territory names not near my rl location so I'd have a general idea of where it was

Trying to figure out these LBs they don't make sense lol. Seems like activity effects it. Was rank 17 when I went to sleep and now I'm in the 40s with ppl ahead of me with lower guild levels

The position update farily quick, almost immidietly I would say? But the rank number take some time before it update. I went to #14 with guild lvl1 (but it was already lvl5).
rural and city will both have the same amount of content. this update only changes the locations of the content
This is a smaller issue, but I'm not a big fan of the current visibility distance on settlements. That's probably leading to a lot of the perception that there are none nearby, when in reality they just aren't visible unless you're somewhat close to them.
With territories you could see where they were and not interact with them, but with settlements you don't know they're there
Now I'm not suggesting making them visible at all VDs but having "You need to be closer to enter this building", since that would probably be more annoying. But maybe some kind of more elegant solution.
Anyone else lost spots to the ai yet? 6 areas taken so far for me already, 3km being the furthest
AI will only attack settlements near the OT, but we don't know how often they will do that

Settlements don't spawn in your OT right? If I move mine will they spawn? Feels like that might be the reason why the 6 subways stations near me don't have POIs

I see two on the map, a town museum and a park.
There's two about a mile east, and three about the about a mile west. South is barren, not developed. Haven't checked north yet, but just neighborhoods, no parks

Immunities from gear also don't seem to work atm, I guess the two are somewhat related

It wants you to take off adornments out of the level range, that's the only warning message. Adorns within range are allowed but they seem to get negated on menu/in battle

Above gear should be regenning mana from the nuts but there is no regen, but gear effects built in like taming/ward start seem to work

Now that I'm over the "waaaagh why didn't I click legacy", I do kinda like the system so far. Rock paper scissors is silly but I guess I'm just bad at guessing xD
Othersouls is a decent way to make lower gear remain relevant and feel good if you get an ornate that's too low for you to use on main. I do think swapping specs to load them up on random skills feels weird but not a big deal.
(Rep should eventually only count the new system otherwise new players have no shot getting up to some of those numbers)
I wouldn't mind a way to reverse my decision on legacy vs not otherwise xD

I just tested with 3 health adornments on my 3* OS, it took the HP from 840 to 894 so stat based adornments do function

The increase doesn't seem correct from hp adorns. Before and after equipping a piece with 94 hp. And they don't match the hp value of the stat screen, which is 3222 and 3316 respectively

I am a bit sad that the exploration mode from the now called legacy system discontinued without replacement. Imo it would have been a perfect addition to the travelers guild and a content where people regardless of competition could participate. For me it was also a reminder system - "hey, I was already visited this place". This is gone now and I see it as missed opportunity. RIP all those hundreds of areas I created "where no Orna player has gone before".
Btw, the intention of Othersouls was that other players could also participate and have a chance to succeed against, or next, to very high AL players?

why do you consider it a step backwards? I have not gotten to use the new system much yet but I remember the old system had issues IMO. Switching back and forth was not smooth and frequently monsters would not spawn for a bit after switching. I like that the map is not crowded with all the rings as well.

The menu still requires constant flipping either between the travel side or out of the UI altogether as it doesn't update in real time.
There's also no way to know now if there is an unexplored area around just by having the game open, I'll have to constantly go to the new UI and check.
The menu is also just markedly worse for navigating to unexplored areas. Orienting myself to 493 meters Southeast is a lot worse than just seeing the circle on the map.
the bug for #1 should be resolved in the current beta update.
for #2, the monsters only show below the traveler's guild icon when there is an unexplored area. where there are no monsters, there is nothing unexplored

TIL, Crownguards MAY prevent NPCs from the conquerors guild from attacking you... But even with them on you will lose a lot of crowns to NPCs

I know this is likely because once othersouls have armor on you can't use it elsewhere, but is it possible to have othersouls gear appear in jeweller's and titan guild to be adorned while equipped by othersouls? Currently it acts like the gear doesn't exist
Also, fun note that they seem to all attack you every hour at the 30 minute 7 second mark, for me at least

The game integration was present when you looked at the screen. Now I have a list to choose from.
It is better then removing it, so I am happy that it is still here. Hopefully it gets more integrated in the TG.
Visual also help in determining how many unexplored areas exist between directions. I'd rather go to where there are 4 or 5 rather than 1, which also lends itself to visual indicators rather than having to count how many areas have the same general direction
Fwiw, the very first iteration of exploration was a menu.
It was replaced by the previous UI and was universally praised as a good decision and an improvement.

There is definitely a difference in the effort required between looking at a circle on a map and mathematically figuring out how far you need to walk and in what compass direction 😅
Yes, you can pretty easily figure out where "300m NE" is, but that's not the same as seeing the map and knowing what street you need to get to
No real "walking" in my area... lots of farms and a couple small towns. roads are basically a 1Mile grid pattern. sounds like you guys have more options when it comes to "exploration" in your area. I do do that when im on vacation but :).

and the OSM data the game uses needs to be updated after that.

If you do good updates to OSM though, they'll stay on the map and get implemented in Orna's next map update (which may not be for a while).
I added forest mapping to several entire towns where there was almost none across the past couple years, and that finally got into the game over the summer server updates.

I do a lot of hiking, and if I have cell service I always used to claim the summit of whatever mountain I hiked up. Now I get to do that all over again with settlements
that being said... if the settlements are congested near "points of interest" I suspect that the only one in my general area will be the one on top of my base.

I have already made some observations about summons but i dont know if my experience is valid since I only have one settlement to interact with right now.
Honestly, NF would have made the areas become hexagonal and all stuck together, put settlements leaving some hexes, and in other hexes put the exploration enemies

So, It's anicdotal but in the last 6.5 hours I have lost almost 40 crowns to the NPCs, they seem to have 4-6 crowns taken each hour around the 30 minute 7 second mark past the hour it'll all get taken at once several different locations all in the same second. This is the same whether I had a crownguard on or not.

I believe it was stated that legacy achievements would be remaining. Conquerors guild achievement replaced the 250k territory control achievement

Finally got out and about on the new "POI" spawning last night. Rural area settlements are few and far. Rest stops and car pool parking lots seem to be where they went. But in town they get clumped quite a bit. 3 basically on top of each other like some of the crazy images above. but it was in the city center/park/statue/kids playground so it makes sense that there are a few POI there. I wonder if some of the walking gardens with fancy statues in it in europe are what we are seeing images of that have tons. while that is as expected. the Towers/monuments/etc being grouped around these was kind of nice. on one hand there is nothing out on the gravel roads anymore (random spawns and driving could have missed a few) but it means that if I drive into town the walking trail has a decent number of them in one place.
shift of play style from walking the dog and grabbing a couple to making a dedicated trip to town to a walking trail. Suppose its kind of a wash. grocery stores/gas stations seem to be similar pre and post in my area.

I have very little personal experience with POI spawns as the only place I've seen any so far is the little city park in town. I do wish the settlements were a bit more evenly distributed though. Seems like the pattern is I'll travel about a mile, then see 2 or 3, then another mile and 2 or three. Personally be nice if they were spaced out a bit more evenly. I brought this up in earlier beta versions too but was told not to make any judgements on density till live.
While I was on the bus, riding the highway near nowhere in specific, they popped up somewhat frequently. At least one or two in view at all times, for the most part.
When I approached Lisbon(capital), they all vanished. I expect it's because they left to go to some PoIs whose locations I know not. Felt a little odd to have less stuff on a capital than in the middle of nowhere
POI could be fun because it creates locations to go that allow for heavy participation and gives it a GPS/Real world pairing that is nice... However considering some of the clusters we are seeing, I think that they may have to be limited a bit, while the "empty space" settlements may need to increase in density a bit. It feels weird that if I travel downtown then to the airport I can get so many settlements compared to how the rest of the city feels.

Ok, I finished my today trip (110km there and back). First picture. I was able to take around 1000 crowns...and imo it was like 60% of possible during the way. Transportation too fast. So density is quite nice. I didn't met any big clusters. Biggest is still zoo in my city (and thats even not whole picture). Prague (even tho I went pretty much thought center) didn't have any big clusters, biggest was 7. Otherwise 2-3. Pilsen as starting and much smaller city has way worse cluster in the center. And last screen are rewards from ~1300 crowns.
If anyone want to know, I fought with other ppl OS. Tedious battles. He has worse gear, I pretty much zero every his attack, but my attacks was super weak too...long and tedious battles.
So setting a specific reward for a settlement doesn't guarantee that reward, is this correct?
Have set all of mine to crowns and get mostly orns, gold and mats with just a few crowns
I am not sure about the details too but you are sabotaging yourself at a certain point as I do believe there are caps. So if you are setting everything to crown proofs and you are past the cap you are just taking away from somethign else
how large was your view distance for "1-2 in view at all times" ?

What if there was a minimum distance between settlements? Mostly just so that these dense clusters find themselves spread out over a slightly more broad area, but still centered on what put them there?
Some players on the french discord just answered they also saw some changes about monuments and tower around them, and settlements

Walking along a short 2 mile stretch of DPR Trail, and encountered two settlements, neither were POI/landmark spots. Granted, that part of the trail does a fair bit of winding, due to following the river

I did enjoy the evenly-spaced and consistently-spaced territory before. Everyone was the same distance away from every other territory, whether they were urban or rural. It was a pure “how much of the map have I traveled and controlled,” rather than just “what convenient clumps do I live or work near, or not.”
Really not a fan of this aspect, yeah. Dwindle the settlement holder’s power down to near zero so that the first fresh player who happens by can push them over with a stiff breeze, sure. But “RNG says you lose this settlement now” doesn’t feel good.
How are you finding the rewards from conquering so much so far? I took 450 crownships so far and was a bit underwhelmed with the rewards but I did only collect them when I had less

I only have around 200 settlements so far so hopefully not the crown cap!
I was mildly concerned and overall there are some kinks to iron out for sure but I am enjoying the system so far.
For new players they have a chance to take settlements
For veteran players they have a reason to level the stockpiled lower tier gears for settlements
And otherwise it feels pretty similar to before with some added tricks and shenanigans.
I am regretting not clicking Legacy a little bit less on day 2 of trying out the conquerors guild.

I'm not sure the old territory players really care all that much about the material gain though (added bonus) so it'll be interesting to see how it plays out in the areas where old territory players are active vs ppl just getting into it or taking a shot at it if they didn't have a chance at it before

I have realized... I will never open it again. I am a world farmer. I love the world map. Now there is so much to do in exploring the world I will never go out of my way to go hunt colorful circles.

Nah, you get the t2 crownguard. Version at t10/11. At least that's all I've gotten. Maybe the emperor version is just extremely rare
IMO I don't think the emperor version is worth the crownships when you can get the crownguards for free even if it is just the t2 version. 6 hours is a nice amount
Idk. If there isn't a cap on crownship it might be more beneficial to switch everything over to crownship and buy them. You might even still come out ahead. And having a permanent buff "24" hours is definitely better than 6

I was thinking the price adjusted like the ramparts. If that price is set (appears to be because mine are the same prices you shot off) that's not terrible. Especially once you get the pets or whatever you want with the crownships and have nothing else to blow them on

I think the purchase is fair enough. It's limited time, so someone can maybe take back the territory near their house or in a small area

Eh I still see barely ascended beos/summoners take from me and I'm 136 AL. A lot of them fresh t10s even. I think AL in territory/settlements is fine.
And pure they already answered but I was gonna say t11 should be it's own bracket but there isn't enough players in the tier unfortunately. Would be a big advantage material wise for us I guess. At least that was an argument for not transferring existing territories to settlements even at 1/3 the rate

I have a low leveldude take my territories and I mean TAKE them that isn't even on the regional leaderboard. You can't just use one class and one skill to fight everyone. This is a strategy game. Not just throwing balls at monsters here.
apple pretty much pays my wages and I would rather see every company leave the IOS store. in the hopes that they would start playing nicely with everyone else.
i can agree with that but also everyone's life is different. cant expect everyone to have full rundown on who is weak to what and how to exploit xy and z.
Agree for the most part lamp. Gilga sucks against beo/ summoners. Heretic was a pretty solid beat all class for me at 136 AL until g.ursa came along. But that was years of fine tuning territory play. Maybe gilga would be similar if I cared enough to invest the time into it like I did heretic, but I'll return to my roots soon enough. Hopefully

I had to hop from heretic to realm for certain opponents on the highway and then to deity to try to withstand some beat downs. You learn what works. Constantly beating the drum that the strong players need to be nerfed so the newer players can compete is just irrational and negates the way the game was designed - to play multiple classes and learn the counter to every build.
I just hop between different varieties of Realmshifter depending on who I encounter in territory

Honestly, I wouldn't have built a conquerors guild until after I hit the 100k taken mark. I was under the impression it was going to stay. Had to give 53 a heads up to not jump in until he hits that 250k mark if he plans on getting into settlements. Would suck so bad being 1k off and losing it.
I haven't seen any of the locals around here in the live beta. The one I talked with said that they're waiting to get more territories for the badge beforehand.

Personal experience as a 25+ AL GSA, a good smack from the AI and we tend to die, even with 180k+ ward.
Beos, Gilgas, and Deities in that order are the most likely to get your AI if it doesn't trigger absorption.
The longer your AI takes to set up without attacking, the more likely a summoner will get set up to eat you, even with a decent AL gap.
GSA, I can zero you out with manticore eyes or close to it. Can't stop a GSH. I definitely know the mechanics and know not to have a load of spells in there. You can manipulate the AI to do almost exactly what you want if you study it enough. Mobile Wonder was a prime example of that. Ss will almost always cast turn 1 where ss3 won't
I didn't care to study the AI and spell placements as much as mobile has lol. But spell placement in the slots is a huge determination on what's cast. That includes leaving blank spaces
I was eating him around where I live before I was t10, he was good training for trying out different strats. At the time he was very turtley. Sad to see him leave.

The AL of people it throws you up against at 250 is so wildly different compared to your own, I feel it. Usually a Selene will vaporize me halfway through if I try now lol
I had much better luck around lv 130, I should have done all my coliseum fights then.
Deities can be a real pita with dex, but overall they are one of the easiest to kill on territory. Ultima still blasts them or just imbue a weapon with an element and eventually you're going to get that elemental weakness hit
The complaints about deity are mostly PvE related. Well aside from d.ursa's DC

when the beta was still on the other app, i read that the othersouls should be at a disadvantage (because no classes, specs, stats) compared to the new players. Of course, this changes when a t3 player levels up and has a t3 othersouls with worse equipment

I am not sure it's that much of an advantage other than some people get to enjoy it first. If they can't take it from a player it's highly unlikely they would have been able to defend it from the same player. I guess the only unfair portion of it is that they miss out on a few days of daily income gathering before it goes out to the main pop. The longer the public beta goes, the bigger that advantage gets I guess. In the long term though it really isn't going to matter a hill of beans.

The entire point of the beta happening on the live server and having live server consequences is because people will actually thoroughly test it

From a number of areas perspective: realistically if you're not weak at PvP then iOS users can claim areas just fine once the build goes live. And if they are weak at PvP they weren't going to keep those areas anyway.
The rewards from the Conq guild are reasonable but they still aren't actually game-changingly good. Strictly speaking it's still more efficient not to engage in territory 😆
It you're talking orns, you are better to world farm a few bosses a day. The orn piles are not going to help anyone ascend or anything.
At the end of the day it doesn't feel good to miss out, but also nobody is missing out on much (from a Conq guild perspective)
Especially in a system designed to cause the conqueror to get weaker over time. Some may find other souls to be easier than the AI that was knocked out by the first guy.

One of the pieces about this game that I appreciate and have enjoyed over the last roughly 5 years is that it is equitable to all players. I would like to maintain and make sure that’s gonna stay that way, but this beta testing has a possibility of stewing Players towards one type of phone and phone system compared to another.

Anyone tried Othersouls with Charge skills like Sorrow? Does it scale with your kills, not scale at all?
To be honnest, I would be totally ok not having access to the daily rewards until it goes live for everyone, if it's something seen as too unfair

Rewards are part of the testing though. Otherwise the rewards could be all wonky when full live.
iOS player here. Disabling any part of the system would just disincentivize people from testing it. The best thing that can happen to iOS players is to have a ton of people testing it right now so the beta is as short as possible.
Trust me, I want to play with my new toys as much as anyone else, but NF can’t really change the App Store’s rules

This is my thought as well - expending our resources on disabling pieces of the guild, compromising testing, and taking us away from bug fixing only hurts the final product
Speaking of rewards- is there a possibility of getting a way to access the rewards tab for all your settlements from the guild? I imagine that might be a bit of a coding nightmare but kind of like the "king demands tribute". It could even have a cool down or only apply to the next day onwards. Or have you click a reward and all settlements with that option available swap to it or some such.
I ask as a currently rural player where a lot of these settlements are in places where I'm lucky if I connect to the server in time to fight or not and I can't imagine being able to change them all in person when some take a good minute or five to load
I just take it as part of a game and I'm reconciled that rewards will be pretty random. 👀

It depends a lot if there is a cap and how it will work. I will probably be "in touch" with ~2000 crownships regulary. But others will be random taken during road and never setup again. And that will be several times more than the first category...
So will I get the reward from all of them, or from the first category (which will be taken much sooner), or some mix? Or there is no cap ..

According to the fact the emperor deceide the kind of reward for the settlements, it means if lower tier player take a spot in this settlement he will have some rewards, and I assume the othersouls too
One way to test it would be to take the emperor spot of a settlement with main character, and just take one spot with an alt, and roll the rewards with the alt once ?

I'll have to check it again tomorrow. Actually forgot to collect yesterday's rewards and it was the day before that had the larger number of mats, but the stacks were small. So maybe if you have less mats the stack is larger and more mats the stacks are smaller to even out to whatever the cap is on your mats. If that makes sense, I'm overly tired lol
Maybe I'll dust off the t11 alt and test the other soul theory. Just take the main crownship and collect for a few days then take the other souls spots and collect to see the difference

At least in the private beta, my cap was a fluctuating 21-25. Not enough for a better daily crownguard. Down with caps.

Having one tower in range of VD shouldn't be, IMO, an automatic we should expect on each week. It feels fine IMHO to have like one in VD range average 1 week/2, and some "lucky" weeks with 2 and some very lucky weeks with 2+. Before the update, I rarely had to walk more than 5 minutes on "bad" week to reach one (with max VD) and I think it's fair
I have had a tower in less than 1km 1 time(that I am aware of) in my orna career. 🙂 was a special great week of progress for me.
Well, we dont know what material cap is yet. Capara has 490, I have 570. But I didn't set much of areas. I have on the other hand 2,5x times orns and 4x gold. So I guess I can have similar amount material settlements as he has.

This kind of mechanics (the conq guild rewards, especially mats) has reaaaallly to be prepared with caution IMHO, as for now, according to the rewards (but maybe we ll see some kind of cap or something like that on screenshots with even more crownship), it clearly may have a potentiel to broke the in game mats economy

I'm passing along a message of negative feelings towards the Conqueror's Guild sprite pack, in particular that it is (paraphrased) "not visually appealing enough".
They have additionally made comment that the T8/T9 and T10/T11 Othersoul's sprites do have the pizazz that they are hoping/looking for.

Being that you can only collect it once a day and the investment that has to go into the guild compared to others I don't really see it being a game breaking mat economy. You can run dm's all day long for thousands of mats, same with anguish, towers, etc. I agree with knight that overall almost everything else is still better than the rewards from conq guild
Currently you can't buy mats from the guild itself. If you could then I can see how it would be a concern
Thing is, if it appears there's no real cap, it can quickly become an issue, especially for something that, I agree, requires some investement at first but then just require to click once a day, it has a real potentiel to become problematic and to break game economy.
Assuming there's no cap, if someone wants to strongly benefit from this guild, he just have to spent some time until it becomes "good", and you can't compare this kind of mechanics with other ones (anguish, tower for exemple) as they require to spend some time each day if you want to have reward from it each day
Butttt they would have to constantly go around and interact with all of their settlements to maintain getting rewards if interaction with the guild is required to keep them producing. If they live in an area where they don't get contested by anyone else
No cap ? Then for some day/week, go for a settlements hunt, focusing places less likely to have some other players talking them back, until the rewards become huge. You're more than aware than some players were already really invested Into the "old" territory system and the rewards were trash (sorry for this word), if the rewards are not caped or if there s no efficient limitating mechanics, it clearly has a potentiel to causes some trouble in the game economy
Invested in it but not for the rewards. I still personally don't care about the rewards in settlements either

There is supposed to be diminishing returns when there's no interaction though. How long that takes is up in the air I guess atm. Since some people seem to be getting destroyed by npcs and others haven't had that interaction yet lol
For now, we have no real Idea about the potential existing limitating factors as : rewards from a few days in a row for players with same number of settlements were stable (according to several SS in this case) + we have no idea if there's a cap or not = for now, to me, the concern seems fair to be pointed
Ceri had a big chunk of mats from her settlements, it'll be interesting to see if they go down since a lot of those were on a trip she had and she won't be near them again. At least any time soon most likely
Yes, that's all those things we need to understand better. If there are already some kind of limitating system to avoid the kind of concern I shared then it's completely fine, if there s not, then we may have an issue, so we ll see

I don't disagree, but it seems like the goal is to accelerate ascending. I have no idea if ascension 2.0 is still on the road map it just seems to me like the goal is to make it easier for lower AL people to be able to ascend as fast as possible to start closing the gap on the higher AL players
That's probably the easier route rather than reworking or changing ascension all together
Exploit? Having thousands of settlements to get mats isn’t an exploit, it’s a ton of work. Especially when we give access to everyone and competition for them increase
I don't disagree with the idea of helping, and finding new way to help everyone having some more fun and some more access to AL, and I'm definitely a huge fan of the guilds system idea. But improving mats farming abilities is a thing, breaking it is a no
if the rewards keep being the same for the next thousands days after the effort you put first to take the settlements, then yes in this case this tend to be exploitable, so it may be an exploit
It's not because something require some work that it can't become an exploit
You need to keep them active to get rewards, so you need to keep putting in the work
Yeah settlements that haven't been visited recently will stop giving rewards

If I tell you I ll send you 500k of each mat if you kill one goblin lord, you could still tell me it's not an exploit as it took you some effort to kill it, so that's not what determine what may be seen as an exploit or not

Sorry, I was just assuming you had seen that in the earlier discussions and knew that at some point settlements will stop producing mats which is why it shouldn't be too problematic
Sorry on my side too, I didn't remember or maybe didn't seen this was already taken into account and shared my concerns according to the current datas we have, wich may be biased as the limitating thing take probably more than a few days to be seen. Thanks for your understanding
