Jumping in early to try to assess whether there’s interest in the iOS beta. As an iOS player I’ve felt saddened that we weren’t able to interact in the last few betas.

I feel like the more people are able to test and contribute the better, but I understand that this may be too much work for maybe not enough return for the studio.

As such, if you’re an iOS player that would like to participate in the beta please comment in this thread

I also couldn't play any of the recent betas. One day they just stopped updating the beta, tried to see where to play it again, and found nothing. It is a bit frustrating I cannot test it anymore and Android players are currently able to test it. Currently interested in participating

Hello!
It's not about extra work, and everything to do with speed and agility in getting updates pushed through on iOS.
That platform is much less kind to the process of launching a beta for folks, and being agile enough to push through updates on that beta client throughout the life of each beta.

Given a lot of these betas are being run as short runs to figure out bugs with speedier implementation, with the broader goal of getting the content in folks hands quickly - it makes the feasibility of iOS betas much less likely.

We're definitely conscious of the iOS crowd, and we'll be sure to try our hardest for any longer running betas that we may plan further in advance to get betas up for iOS too - in the interim getting the content pushed more quickly should hopefully allow iOS users the ability to access everything the soonest that we can 🙂

Appreciate the context Dangy, I think it's mostly a forum for displaying interest per Odie's comment in the beta announcement post:

Depending on interest, we may prepare an iOS beta version as well.

If there's a more appropriate forum, please let us know. 🙂

A quick Google says that Apple's beta review process frequently takes up to 48 hours for a build to be approved

#

So if the delay can be two days between a client-side issue being resolved and that resolution reaching the testers I can understand why NF may not try to run iOS betas for shorter periods

#

(For example the 3.8.1beta updated needed on Android a couple hours after the beta released may not have shown up on iOS until Friday at the latest.)
