You can't rebind buttons on controller and jump and crouch are mapped to adjacent face buttons despite being the two most important buttons in the game
At this point, just learn mouse + keyboard because controller is going to hold you back by an ungodly margin

Special K might give you some of the functionality that you would need to make that work. It has more compatibility with controllers

Yeah it's third party, however it's open source and many people use it (including myself generally, not in this specific application though)
