That was present in the first and became more obvious in the 2nd movie

Gimli as a joke character is just overused

With the other 2 of the team being a hot elf and a hot human it was obvious that he would end up as that groups comedy relief but like

It's like not one minute can pass without a
1: height joke
2: him being the third wheel
3: just bizzare unfortunate event

Like there were at least 3 jokes at the start of the war that were about him not seeing what's happening/having to ask what is going on

And then when he finally gets to join the fight for a bit before the wall breaking and him like drowning in a puddle

Him having to be thrown to the bridge makes sense but it felt like they played the "I can't jump that far" bit for too long

Some of that can be explained by his stubborn personality but like cmon
