You guys have to understand that they could give away a vertigo and it'd still be cheap. High quality map making is not cheap, pub map makers like crispy, sage, etc. have gotten paid in actual money quite well in the past. No in-game item is as meaningful as money. If someone can make a truly quality map they deserve compensation.

Further, $250 is quite a low hourly rate if you consider how many hours of mapping, testing, etc. are involved, even if you are a pro. Being a top level map maker is basically being a level designer, texturer, 3d modeler, bug tester, etc. all at the same time — and now, with a time limit too.

I think the only issue with prizes is hollow fade < paper airplane, aside from that they make a lot of sense. Everyone sees unob unob unob but doesn't understand the level of work quality mapping takes
