I'm fine with that
rotations
I just don't think it's reasonable to expect people to get good with such a bimodal distribution of players
m2rk did none of this and only had demon aim
in 2019 sure, that was my fault
honestly even if you did want to get good at a game you shouldn’t put that time into krunker
still won tournaments
Now you should lol
because ur basing it on u
most people r fine if they actually play
ur just…diff
1000$ tournaments
hi chat!
oh interesting
I have run into maybe one or two pub sessions where I was anywhere near matched in skill
Yea and people are getting signed to orgs
Dont ask what valian put all his time into
In FRA it's all bots that don't know how to shoot
for like 50$ a month but it will probably rise
Akallabeth
top 100 NA…..
in US servers it's all people that are so much better than me I can't get a shot off
Us both
2000 concurrent…..
idk what to tell u
if u wanna get good and don’t have an iq sub 80 then it should be trivial to work out what ur bad at and then practice that thing
Very...
Forgot the word
Optimistic
get signed and quadruple ur net worth
if they r faster, prac ur movement
if u cant hit them, aim prac
Emd
etc etc
Thanks automod
yeah, I did aim practice. I can shoot targets moving under mach 7 just fine
But you get 50 a month to j*rk off in a clan
ok so get better until u can hit mach 9
idk who isn’t taking that
but I can't since nobody goes mach 3
like in 2019 there were people at my skill level
bro just give it up 😭
now there's nobody
No pop no nothing
brother i don’t even think they’re gonna wrap the mchcicken for me
ok so use kovaaks idk this shouldn’t be hard ur just banging ur head against the wall
just gonna throw that shit at me
They might not even give you mayo
it's like saying "oh your dumbass can't figure out how to compete with NBA players? just shoot hoops"
no I'm never going to be that good
sorry i’m poor
what mouse tho
i have mayo money buddy
Attack shark x3
I don’t have money for that expensive sh*t
I'm just bitchin lol
Gotcha
u might be disabled
ur complaining u can’t
i’m saying ur not putting in even a tenth of the prac they do
if u wanna keep up do something about it
point is, it's not a pleasant time to be a noob in Krunker pvp
Do u got secret sauce money?
it’s gonna be tight
I don't even know what scrim means lmao
oh brother
What rank did you reach in the vaaks @haughty pebble
what is happening in this chat
I'm a mediocre bhopper don't shoot me I didn't do nothin
I'm getting bullied for griping about good pvpers
i smelled slidehopping and i got summoned
Valian gripping rn
very low tbh
i’m not a kovaaks kid
jade s4
what does that smell like
very good
I don’t even have a rank
mud
i’m doing hella old routines rn
shut up verty
damn what he do
??
what ever happend to dq professional noob
aimer7 training
alot of things
but its a joke when i say shut up to him so
Well with that attitude you wont be
sunny truth bombing
Nothing, in particular. Still doing his own thing
There’s always gonna be someone better than you at anything
except bella
Shouldnt compare yourself to people
your aim is to go around them and ask questions
What are they doing you’re not
that’s how you improve yourself
You tabula rasa people think that Danny DeVito could be an NBA player if he trained hard enough lol
im better than you at anything
people are genetically predisposed to be better at certain things
how do you feel about jokic averaging a triple double
who you think winning tn
I think you can do anything you put your mind to in life, if you're gonna come out the gate saying "oh im never gonna be this" well you've already failed
it doesn't matter that much, again a) I'm just griping and I don't intend to fix it b) I was making a more modest point that it's not pleasant. Just because it's possible to develop your skills doesn't mean it's enjoyable. Having a dismissive attitude about the majority of the prospective user base (people who aren't all that great) is just setting up Krunker to continue to struggle to retain new players
you're wrong
how many people with downs syndrome have gotten a PhD in mathematics
🍿
so ur better than me at being stupid
Tuff profile
serious about what
Ah i have an unfinished massive palace map that younger me thought would get me verified
Thank you, a special someone made it for me
actually no, ur better than me on that
share in MMOK
gtg rn but

anyway
Should have finished it
Younger me from 5 years ago made it so its shit, ill show a picture though
So u lied wow
max win
Very strange example
yay
u lie everyday when u talk in the cool server so, me lying one time wont change the economy
sometimes it takes an extreme example to show the absurdity of a claim. It's called reductio ad absurdum
thats a lie also
lol
I dont think the claim is absurd at all
dont wanna bother the big O
well ig u did
What you said is a motivational plattitude
And it's objectively false.
There are obviously things that people can't do, regardless of their attitude.
You’re the most depressing guy I’ve met bro
update is in 2027
This mindset is so terrible
If you go into things with that mindset, you'll never achieve anything in life
How is it depressing to not lie
some things are physically not possible sure but its more about the mindset
whats up?
that verty keeps spreading lies and misinformation in the cool server
Yeah you can be real but this shit is like you think you’re permanently going to be a loser
Another false plattitude
I couldnt be a brain surgeon because I have a fine motorics disorder
is that true
thats just how it is
whats a pretty whale like you doing in a place like this
hard facts
see
You know how many people told me I was too small to play basketball
the haters were right
the haters are always right
not if I got offers from d2
You can still become a brain surgeon. Not good with but still a brain surgeon
How? There are certainly things within my ability. It is a reasonable goal to become conversant in Spanish or Italian or German. It is not a reasonable goal for me to become a neurosurgeon, because I don't have steady hands.
while being abroad
u put yourself there
Exactly
fucking american
if you have a dream, go for it
Its abt the experience
Im not talking about physical disabilities
that’s how it’s meant to be
Are you in the NBA?
why u complaining then
But even people with physical disabilities do extraordinary things
Its cold rainy and dark
I’m not even old enough
NCAA?
Yeah just look at bella
im LOVING the vibe rn that its dark, rainy and COLD
its too cold
L
i think u messed up the names
i think u meant to put yourself there
Extraordinary things, but there are limits. There is a reason there are the "paralympic" games.
Nope
i wish it was -1 here
why not d1
Id take -8 over -1 with wind
I’m not good enough
im chilling with my 22c and raining
Also I’m abroad
Right, and do you think you could be good enough to be in the NBA when you're old enough?
Of course I do
thats when people start to wear short clothing here
I’m gonna be the best Kobe Bryant
ahuh
average germans
tunnel mindset
we wear shorts here with 30+
see there's nothing wrong with saying "you can usually achieve more than you think" but it's not "loserthink" to acknowledge there are limitations on what you can achieve
30+ is considered very hot here
u wouldve died like a month ago then
highest I got last year was 38
There aren’t limitations
results show
yes there are
it got to like 35 for like a week straight feeling like 37-38 ish
until 40 it is not so hot here
You’re talking about things you can’t change
40 is hot
like height etc
what results
a few years ago it was month straight 40 degrees
You can clearly see where you improve
what are you trying to say
did I say you couldn't improve?
kinda interesting how you can experience heat/freezing related health issues/injuries at lower/higher temps depending on where you live
cuff is pushing 40 btw
you said what results
I merely said there are limitations and there are things that are not reasonable expectations for people to do
Shorts until -5
results is where you improve
crazy
truth
why stop at -5
You said "There aren’t limitations
results show"
There are limitations
but Ive been getting more sensitive to temperature
I was asking for some study
.
i wish it was cold like that here, i despise when its very warm
My mum used to take away my shorts when it got -5 when I was still in school living at home xD
my brother is in berlin rn and his weather app said "felt like -14" 😭 @pseudo girder
imma move to europe
So?
If you have that mindset for everything you do in life you'll achieve nothing, but yeah if you're blind you cant become a pilot, that's obvious
the wind is horrible bro
Do you think I've achieved nothing?
This is what I’m trying to say
its 7 here rn idk abt the feels like
you sound so miserable
imma go to europe hunt verty down, and live in a cool country
like optimism is your worst enemy
I'm not, I'm a content person. I'm saying your plattitudes are wrong and silly.
it’s like it’s you against you and you lost
And they are, objectively wrong, and you acknowledged as much.
You don’t have self pride
All of y’all are right. There are limitations but you are still able to reach almost everything or at least get closer to that goal if you really want and try. Not EVERYTHING tho and it’s always a good mindset and motivation to keep one going
We're talking about mindset, not objective truth
yeah kill verty
broforce, fire game
being able to push yourself is what pioneered everything around you
will do so mr bjarny
There is a distinction to be made between optimism, delusion, and useless sayings.
everyone should move to germany
???
isnt germany like very stinky
I’m not talking delusion or useless sayings
i played that game way too much with my brother
or am i geeked
apart from politics its great here
Some cities like prob everywhere in this world xD never had issues with that myself
Yeah it's really fun to play with others, I used to play it with my dad
And still worse politics out there
yeah
The inciting claim of this discussion was "I think you can do anything you put your mind to in life". This is false and everyone here has acknowledged at least once that it was false, so we're done here.
belgium would never have problems with politics
i know 2 words in german am i cooked??!
fair enough
same
ok so if a german knows 2 words in german im safe
Physically there are certain limitations yes, nobody is denying that. Im saying if you apply this mindset to anything you do in life, you've lost already
whenever i see german and brazil in the same vicinity i think of 7-1
me too
I remember watching that live
thats what emily does to me
everytime
Idk why anyone would try and push themselves if they had your mindset
😭
I hate that they made fun of people crying about it tho
i mean
gn mate
^
Nah there are some times where you are allowed to cry in a sport man
i joined kb when i was 15 and now im almost 18 😿 3 years of life i'll never get back
Yelling at people as if you would play better sitting in front of your tv shovelling chips and beer into you are the same
I myself feel the same but with everything that has happened in my life Ive learned to not be too judgemental of what other people enjoy
I cried all night when I didn’t get a single d1 offer but no one knew
i mean i dont judge people aswell, its just my personal opinion
all my family despises football
so
you’re not Brazilian
I used to be a youth trainer and played myself
Because I can distinguish between reasonable and unreasonable goals. Again, this aspirational/motivational plattitude is unnecessary if you are not depressed or a child. I set goals that are reasonable and I generally meet them. Is it possible that I have missed the opportunity to do something great? Yes. But I did the risk analysis and I didn't think the opportunity cost of trying was worth it. That's okay.
I strip that title off you
fake brazilian
please do
I have a shirt with the signature of Marco Reus
Hello
🙁
Anyoen i know here
Por que
pancito knows portuguese??
belgium accepts everyone with open arms
no way
Don’t say that to the Germans
over recent years Ive become quite proud to be german, sure we have some problems but so does every country
do you say that to the loud people u talk to?
we still somewhat care about our own people when it comes to social issues
belgium has 0 problems 🥱
netherlands from wish

ignore wallonia
Play matches sell items and do the zombie strat where u get frogs and sell then
Them
I was in brussels 2 years ago
Woah
my condolences
im going to brussels in a few months
for a school trip
sub 5 minutes on slide_moonlight
sub 5 on moonlight + Kanji
and kanji jump
stop copying me
Yea alr i knew it then
I was supposed to go to tuscany for a school trip but covid happened 💔
Don’t be banned

💔
we're going to rome
🤨

only trip that got cancelled for me was canterbury and that was because of the brexit
yeah something about not everyone having a passport and they cant force us to get one or something
fire
kinda interesting that its easier to get into turkey now than the UK
go hunt secret
How do some people not have a passport?
i dont have one
Aight
i mean i don't need a passport for all the countries i travel to so
I only needed my ID for turkey, for the UK I need my passport, travel passport and something similar to a visa
Ah i see
goodness Sunny just finish up
travel passport expires and within the EU you rarely need one
yeah i mean the only other countries i (regularly) go to are spain, germany, france and the netherlands ig
I mean if you wanna live in your own comfort box that's cool, I dont think it's a bad thing for people to have very high aspirations for themselves, as long as you're young you have the freedom to pursue whatever you'd like, you just gotta have a plan. It's also okay to set goals for yourself and not meet them, it's good to get out of your comfort zone and try out different things in life
Yea im sadly not in the eu
I usually stay within Germany but I do want to travel more in the future
freedom country?
I need to go to Luxemburg, then Ive been to every country around germany
i mean regularly very loosely, i haven't traveled outside of belgium in a few years now i think
Ig
last time was either spain or germany
Not America tho
"freedom"
I was in Switzerland and Lichtenstein for a day trip last year, it was amazing
🤨
I like Europe its real beautiful
my friend goes to switzerland a lot to go skiing
literally an instagram post trip 💀
Anyone here serbian i doubt it tho
Outside comfort zone fine, just be realistic. I don't like plattitudes. No, not believing "I can do anything" won't impede you from your goals. A lot fewer people would be in massive debt if they had circumspect views of their abilities and talents.
barely any people around, found a small restaurant hut in the middle of a valley and ate cheese and ham surrounded by mooing cows
actually nvm i just realised i went to paris last year
😭
I havent been to Paris yet
People need to acknowledge that sunk costs are sunk and opportunity costs exist.
i went with school last year
how are weeeeee
2 days
it felt unreal
paris was nice
I dont think Id want to spend much time in Paris tbh
i walked around near the notre dame for like 3 hours
yeah no it was nice but im glad it was only 2 days
if the Eurostar wasnt so crazy expensive
i have one but its rusty asf
yeah we went by bus
Ah lol i got a blue one
Theres also a lot of people who took risks getting out of their comfort zone and are very successful today
flixbus my goat
okay that sounds awful
it is
But if you keep your expectations low, you'll never be disappointed so if that's how you wanna live your life go for it
last time it was okay though
the bus was basically empty
so i had the entire back row to myself
People have a disordered view of success.
Ive been using flixbus for 2 hour ish trips and Ive honestly never had issues
Anyone here serbian
never even had a seat neighbour
yeah i dont remember how long it was to spain but it was a while
and a few stops of course
that has to be over 20 hours
the stops in france were so expensive
unless it was like a direct connection
yea it was a while i dont remember how long tho
around that i think yeah
Going outside your comfort zone for something that has a low opportunity cost like asking a girl out, that's great and the kind of comfort zone breaking you should do. If you're just not talented or very intelligent and see dollar signs in say a surgical position, you should absolutely not dump money into med school. See the difference here?
I pay less for a 1st class ticket with seat reservation and a meal from south to north germany
😭
You cannot actually do anything you set your mind to, and you need to be judicious about what you spend time effort and money on
you have obligations to things other than your own greed
and thats one way
"if you're just not talented or very intelligent"
Notice how you instantly set those limits for yourself
i'm gonna pay around that (a little more) for an entire year
for my train next year for college
I'm not setting those limits for myself. I'm intelligent enough to be a medical doctor, I just don't want to be one because I think human flesh is utterly disgusting.
its €184
Idk how much my UK trip is gonna cost yet
I would be miserable in the very first anatomy class.
I hope I get my passport in time 💀
I was speaking generally
😭
Alright so you can be one, but you're choosing not to pursue that field of study, completely fine but you're not saying you cant be
there are those who lack the intellectual abilities and talent to go into the medical field
thank god a massive student discount exists otherwise itd be like 600+
but flying to london and back with a carry on is around 120€
Because I know that being a medical doctor is a reasonable path. I did say however that a neurosurgery position was outside of my reasonable career paths, because my hands just aren't steady enough
you could unironically go for a day trip with a small rucksack for under 50€
Right so they just shouldnt even try according to you?
If someone has chronically shaking hands no they should not try to be a neurosurgeon. Waste of money and time.
There is no hard line for physical disability
Man it costs around 1k per person in economy class to go from where i live to Europe

you're giving the most clear cut examples of a physical disability lol
where do u live
Canada
normal canada or quebec canada
Normal
good
💀
im from normal belgium not wallonia
Lol cool
Shaky hands is not clear cut. I have shaky hands. Diagnosable? No, probably not. Here's another example: I do not have the same rote memorization capacity as some other people. I'm not disabled. But there are some people who just have better rote ability.
So you have to work harder than those people
People are born with advantages yeah, but hard work beats talent
Hard work paired with talent is the best
ofc but hard work still beats talent

chiccen
Yea i get it
Food
in my opinion you need some baseline privilege to be remotely succesful
chicken nugget 🤤
Lmao
One of the reasons I think testing accommodations are so silly for mental disabilities, is that mild attention disabilities are not clear cut. I don't like testing much either, and I struggle to focus sometimes. But I don't get these advantages because I am not marked as having this disorder, which is an arbitrarily defined behavioral-observation-diagnosed thing.
im hungry
stroke
Lol
Me 2 lowley
Not always, again, doesn't matter how hard a 60 IQ person works they're not going to get a PhD in mathematics, because they are too mentally disabled to do so.
Hard work can beat talent plus low effort, but talent and hard work will beat mere hard work.
This is another useless and misleading platitude.
It's just unnecessary
yep
Wus Goin here.
discourse
You'd be surprised how many talented people are out there who put low effort into things
how much
now gamble
I don’t leak that sh*t
😄
Too confidential
👌
(100$)
It definitely helps but I wouldnt say it's absolutely necessary, lots of people have had success despite not having privileges
put it all on black
I’m putting it all on Amazon bro
U know it
boring 🥱
put it all on green @amber pivot
I just think if you're gonna count yourself out of something without even trying, it's a bad mindset to have
Nah bro
I’m putting it on hakari
hakari from jjk
So what about a person with an average IQ
kb's average iq is 40
🥀
@sweet trail @lone stream am i the best tank or what??
im diffing every tank so crazily
no
good night
am i or am i not
good night
ok...
You gotta play tank in ranked
i dont trust anyone but you guys, im sure id die in 1 sec because of bad teammates bro
Yes you are my glorious tank in shining armour
i thought about it when they were zarya
Thatd be a spectacle
but Ram is more my wager
i was doing well with Dva too
they just swapped to zarya
im so good with roadhog and sigma too
bro Im insane gn
Good day
Good night
There is no discrete level of ability and disability when it comes to intellectual ability (besides, I guess, dead), but your innate talents are definitely relevant in what you are likely to achieve. If you had the global average intelligence, it's still pretty unlikely you're going to nab a PhD in, say, mathematics or physics in any respectable program.
But again, we already went over this and we more or less agree, I just don't like your framing.
🤨
@modern rain lets play deadlock
@real pivot you still playing
anyone know how to recover an old account
whats the current account requirement to host 20 player lobbies?
you might need premium
average iq could 100% get a phd in many even if not every field
most academia other than maybe forefront understanding of new scientific concepts is more effort and work ethic/study based than raw intelligence
maths and physics still very much on the cards
What's the highest level of math you have taken?
nothing crazy
discrete maths set theory algorithms and shit as part of comp sci at uni
average iq could probs do a phd in those areas i’d assume
It's more about having enabling environments more than anything
hi asokra
You'll see this a lot in history with intelligence at least
hi
We are in the most enabling environment in human history. In the US, internet access is functionally 100%.
weird take when i’d assume even u can work out that family environment and opportunities r the factor we r talking about
I don't think you have an accurate understanding of the intellectual capabilities of the average person, even in America, let alone globally.
maybe i’m over estimating them ig
r u average?
No.
rough
I am far above average, as are you.
Don't let your intelligence and your peers fool you into a false sense about the world.
i talk like a spastic online how could u know that 😭
i need to step up my game
or down? idk
It is a reasonably fair assumption that someone who has made it through university set theory and algorithms classes (in what, C?) is batting a bit above average in the noggin.
this conversation is too intellectual for KB
yeah most of uni was in c
what are yall even talking abt
Well internet access doesn't equal enabling, for example look at how education systems are structured in the west compared to parts of asia
Yeah, again, you are operating under severe selection biases because you lived in (or went to daily) an educational institution.
someone tell to Glen and Leo that how much should we wait more for season 9.1?
Internet access enables any motivated person to get a free education through at least an undergraduate level.
goth girls
Yeah but not a lot of people take that opportunity
they would rather stick to something they know
some people can't because of the status they are in the world or because they are shunned
i’m shunned for being too hot and awesome so i get it
Real!
Status, in some cases yes. Shunned?
certain public school districts concentrated in bigger cities perform far better than rural public school districts. Primarily due to possibly small things such as even having the teachers for AP classes and infrastructure
ye
+budget
nf
?
also parents
i lot of people don’t even know how much they can learn online
Having attended both a large highly-funded urban school and a small, poor rural school, the rural people do it to themselves and they deserve their outcomes. Students who weren't spitting in the teachers' faces on a daily basis did perfectly fine.
Not necessarily
so much of that is parents tho
If you are a kid you don't get to choose where you are born
I think it is parents and also people/kids prefer the easy route
At a certain point people have to stand up and take responsibility for their actions.
But yes, parents can be a terrible influence.
they don’t know how
I guess but like I said
they were never taught
that's where motivation has to be so far
like you can be average IQ but have feeder systems at a young age to help you succeed
and you see this with wealthy families especially
what is a feeder system
they aren't running cognitive tests to see if their kid will do great later on in life
just what asian families do
start 2 instruments at a young age, multple languages, chess
wealthy asian families*

like in india there are kids that are 7 that are genius programmers
yea but if u adjust for capita
it's pretty impressive
what some asian countries do
Back that up, I don't believe it
not Indian Americans
India
per capita im the best in the world at everything
India is a squalid place with pockets of wealth
I meant to say more developed parts, you got a point. There would be too many outliers all over the place
Parts of Kerala and the more developed portions of China
The point tho is they just straight up set the systems and don't really be thinking abt how smart their kid actually is
and then most of the times the kid does do pretty good
Most of the time the kids in Korean cram schools do pretty good, doesn't mean the conditions aren't miserable.
well yeah whether the kid is happy is a different story lol
It's not just happiness
yea
kids naturally aren't meant for it
but the fact that they can shows something
is it ethical and correct? really comes down to ur beliefs
i dont think so
it goes to show tho that those kids have a completely different up bringing and approach to education than someone that might grow up on a farm and could possibly be a genius but never sees the need to apply it
When trying to stretch five rubber bands to a particular tension, the right thing to do is not stretch them all to the maximum length of the most inelastic one.
Our expectations can be far higher than they are in say America, but people aren't the same.
parents overwork their children*
i dont think children naturally pressure themselves without outside influence
and they carry that well into adulthood
Parents really don't know that but what we end up seeing is a lot of average IQ people doing very well at top fields in academia, the geniuses are obviously at the top but yeah. Then again like Zangi said, it's just parents over working their children but there is truth that there isn't a hard stop at least based on IQ
What i mean is more like people have a false narrative of what it means to be successful
everyone is silly
just have fun !
Rarely in the US, but certainly in wealthy Asian countries.
I wouldnt say its rare
yeah exactly. schools and society in general all around the world tells children to go to school then on to college/uni to gather huge amounts of debt (most of the time).
financial independence should be the only goal that parents should push from a monetary perspective
For those asian countries, those kids are the big break for those families
So it's a standard
different in western countries fs
I repeatedly said there is no discrete disability preventing people from doing things, but it does influence the likelihood of success. And probability is worth taking into consideration.
and passions children have should be nurtured, yet the schooling system actively punishes creativity and “weird” interests that dont align with what they believe to be “correct”
Then it is as I said and practical realities should be taken into consideration, and we can't actually do anything we set our minds to, the genesis of the conversation that everyone continues to agree with my point on, despite wanting to argue about it for some reason.
I was just adding that IQ is always over exaggerated in these
arguing is fun it’s y i’m here
the US is one of the largest culprits of this. the amount of pressure placed on children about uni/college in the US is insane
No it's not.
Cuz of how expensive shit is
It's just subjective based on school
its common in most top universities
It's seen as standard especially among professionals, but there is no overarching pressure.
Selection bias.
ground plaza hurts my arm
A third of a percent of college students attend Ivy Leagues. Of course the people that go there are going to be neurotic and pushed.
vertussy did u keep up the kovaaks grind
I diagree i mean im not in ivy league and I see kids getting pressured by parents all the time
integral where are u from If I can ask
Naur
i downloaded it recently on my new laptop but I havent played
By "pressured" you mean "you should go to college so you can get a professional salary and a desk job".
No i mean like get As or the belt lol
The statement Integral isn't exclusive to Ivy League attendees
isn’t college like hard to afford in the us
yes, very
Rather, it says that those kids are even more likely to be pressured compared to those that do not attend Ivy League universities
Extremely
so its like the parents are dropping 50k a year, so they want the kids to do well
which most can’t i’d assume
If outcomes are so tied to motivation and parenting, then we should not see an America where nearly half can't read to sixth-grade standards and a fifth are functionally illiterate.
Your perspective, again, like cuff's, is warped by selection bias.
idk if I believe those stats but I havent read on it
No, it's extremely easy to afford.
This is just entirely false though?
what.
It’s hard to afford already in the USA with a gdp per capita of $80k
Also household incomes not just capita
Yet, according to a recent study from the Department of Education, roughly half of U.S. adults, aged 16 to 74 years old — 54% or 130 million people — lack literacy proficiency.
From Assessing the Economic Gains of
Eradicating Illiteracy Nationally and Regionally
in the United States
what defines literacy proficiency
How many of those U.S adults have went into upper education?
Yall
he said 6th grade
Cuz ik the point u said earlier was the motivation for American students in university
Yall
Maybe.
Then u should know that college in the US is extraordinarily expensive
He mentioned something about motivation not being a focus of students who go to school in USA
Yo I’m going to sleep, cover my night shift in kb
Uhhhhh

Hello helloo

Omg it’s pebbles

I was being somewhat sarcastic, but it is quite easy to take on the debt to do so. Would you consider someone who gets a mortgage on a three million dollar house to be "unable to afford it" because they can't pay up front? Can a business who runs operating budget on a business loan "not afford" to buy their materials?
Did you move, Verty ?
I should be too, very tired
Hihi
im in the UK for a semester :D
Having to take on debt inherently means you cannot afford it.
yeah im British now it sucks
I dont remember
British kinda sounds hot icl
its cold, rainy, and dark
also im in Ireland
*northern ireland
If you are required to take on debt in order to be able to purchase something, it isn't affordable to you imho
its pleasant to hear proper english when you are surrounded by germans
I lived in the US for years and I would prefer people speaking British accent...
Housing prices are not affordable either at the moment
I love the irish accents here
Oof, cold here too
fuckin canadian housing market.
Yeah I disagree, few people can afford houses up-front. Most people buy houses that exceed their liquid cash.
hate this fuckass okace
One of my profs has a proper english accent
Where are u again?
German accent too dominant fr 😭
Germany currently
mine isnt too bad luckily
Fair, however by definition affordable means reasonably priced
One day I should
Houses are not remotely reasonably priced
she lives on the other side of the country I think
Come with us to the UK
I need to sleep now 😭 almost 4 am
emilys gonna visit me
Ooohh count me in
same 😭
University tuitions are ABSOLUTELY not reasonably priced in the U.S.
Good nighttt !! Imma sleep
gn!
gngn
australia too
hi cuff how's the move in
was at the new place this morning measuring stuff and making sure my car can get up up the drive way hahaha
legal ownership transfer isn’t until the 16th so actual move a few days after that
Damn good luck
Ill come over to help yall move in
u need a big strong man
so ill just be there for moral support and to watch the movers do it
Affordable wasn't the word used. What was said was something to the effect of it not being easy to afford college in the US. Afford means "to be able to pay for", not "reasonable." I think all normal education should be freely accessible, past elementary taught by communications professionals scripted by education professionals, with teachers relegated to tutoring efforts and overseeing practicals.
So socialism
Incredibly inefficient to have thousands of professors who don't want to be there teaching kids who can barely understand them.
Affordable literally means that you are able to afford it
If that's what you want to call it 🤷♂️
it doesn't matter that I used affordable versus afford when one is the root word of the other 😭
i can afford a maccas soft serve
Who's gonna pay for the freely accessible education
"To be able to pay for" was quoted from Merriam Webster, but it's a silly argument.
I can technically afford a used supra should i spend all my savings on one
yoooo get one
it’s worth
it’s so fun
on it
I think all normal education should be freely accessible, past elementary taught by communications professionals scripted by education professionals, with teachers relegated to tutoring efforts and overseeing practicals.
and just what, precisely, is gonna happen if a student asks said communications professional who knows fuck all about the topic during a lecture if it isn't planned/
do they come in purple?
send pics!!!
The taxpayer pays for around half of public universities' revenue and gives a surprising amount to private universities as well.
We're talking over a hundred billion a year.
In what form?
That's not even counting subsidization for tuition.
Governmental grants?
The lectures should be recorded and freely distributed, and that's what they can ask teachers for, on their own time.

- public universities get funding from the government, yeah thats why they are called public but also charge tuition because not every public university has the same programs
- private universities rely mostly on tuition and endowments not governmental grants
Why build billions of dollars in educational facilities when they are used for lecturing?
Unnecessary.
Because learning in person is considerably better than learning from a screen
My point is that we pay more than enough to have a publicly available course in every conceivable subject.
The concepts can already be found on youtube, what cannot be found on youtube are labs and practical, hands on learning.
But no, we pay billions upon billions to these semiprivate institutions to waste money, force researchers to do things they don't care about, etc.
Let researchers research and let professional communicators communicate.
Along with in person communication and work habit skills
Graduate students get federal grants to work on projects in public universities for the government and the betterment of the scientific community of the US
Yes, labs should be done in person. Obviously. Labs and examinations. The lecture hall is unnecessary, however.
Which have already been gutted by the current administration
Glorious morning @cunning notch please morning shower playlist
I never denied this. I just don't think it's unreasonable to have top educators collaborate on well-produced publicly-available video lecture courses.
Speed please I need this
Why do you think it's such an insane spending item?
Moreover, there should be affordable examinations where you can test your knowledge and get credit for these courses that you can do online.
Okay so in end lets look at it from a financial standpoint:
You want to cut spending on lecture professors, lecture halls, and remove government grants for research and instead have the government provide free online lectures, free labs facilities and free research opportunities... all while not increasing taxes?
if its all online you could just use ai
College is expensive now because they're semi-for-profit institutions gouging the taxpayer and the students, and colleges are luxury institutions (but everyone wants to go).
Cut spending on lecture professors for real bro my professors had grudge on me
lets make them all suffer
lol
It's not the lecture professors per say. Most of them are researchers. Let them research. Don't make people that can't communicate well teach classes.
Let the best of the best do it.
Are you aware thats too logical to ever happen?
People go to college for the opportunities, connections, and certifications to get into corporate or other areas
i had good professors but there were 2 bad ones. every apple tree has a rotten apple afterall
Almost all university homework is already online (perhaps barring postgrad). I'm suggesting in-person exams and practicals though.
@unborn reef if ur awake please give me a morning shower playlist
like 5 songs or smth or 6 idk
ill fill the rest of the gap myself
i dont think i met any of my professors lol
Okay so just the lectures are online?
Most people go to college to get a piece of paper. Top colleges, a good deal for connections. I'm just suggesting that the accreditation should be priced to students by the opportunity cost of studying, some fees for labs, and some fees for taking the exam.
Yes, like OCW. That should be standard in every subject, at least for undergraduate classes.
i went to uni so I could socialize and flex on studying what i studied and then dropout
then i figured out what i studied is absolute trash
We already spend more than enough money to produce this content and make the testing centers a reality.
based
Im pretty sure in person lectures and classes are significantly more beneficial for learning than online
What percentage of the outcome differences is a result of selection bias?
a student is more likely to skip their online class than their in person responsibility
i skipped both
Idfk
I hated online classes
There is no "skipping" OCW. There is only doing it, or not doing it.
yet again i skipped most my lessons it is a miracle i passed the finals
fuck them lectures
if all the lectures are online im sure even more people will not finish and drop out
there is 0 commitment
factual
0 financial commitment
Wrong
graduation rates will plummet
u said they were free?
its free but 1 million dollars for every class u miss
Wow my music provider friends are not online I guess this is what it is like to be an adult
Sitting around studying is a financial commitment.
I hate online classes
Opportunity costs.
I’m less committed
NAV FUCK OFFF
Opportunity cost is not a financial cost
Secret barely knows what wifi is
my linear algebra class was online on monday and i had no clue what happened even tho i wason the zoom the entire time lolol
go to my everything playlist and just hit shuffle
There are no class slots in OCW. It's just consume the material, or don't. If you don't, you will probably not do well. If you don't do well, try again.
What?
It's not a financial commitment lol
Are you making fun of my state where I am dependent on my friend's router until I get my own one?
fair play Nav
what...
gg
Opportunity cost of going to a university is usually more than the financial cost.
depends if youre missing out on hours at work or something like that
Thats not a financial cost
Even if it was free, there is still a major opportunity cost.
It is a social cost, not a financial one
Like lilli said
There can be financial outcomes tied to it, but opportunity cost isn't a financial cost itself
ok unironically gona try
I know, which is why I distinguished the two.
?
you cannot say that studying "costs" the money not gained from working instead because you sacrifice short term opportunity costs like ur saying to get a better return long term
😭 😭 😭
ill make u eat ur own words when I get my own router this week
Oh boy I can’t wait for you to show me ur 50/10 speeds
u choose not to work for 4 years and pay for an education in order to make back that lost money using the degree earned from it
u can commit war crimes on me if u would like
❓
what
chat you know what they call me
Maybe killing cuff isn’t a bad idea
cant a girl have desires navid?

Garlock the Destroyer
Mina no diffs btw
Mina lucky i can’t reach her
really stupid question. but is it possible to level up without putting stats on your account besides playtime?
?
I mean if you look at it that way I guess, theres a difference between that and paying money to take a course tho
Silver don’t got a lot of range
Ok Nav now quit this
No
You are pissing me off
Do not ever say that about Mina again.
Theres pressure for you to get the credits and pass
Shut up secret
thats unfortunate
Don’t make me turn off ur VPN
Otherwise you're wasting money
