I think that's the charm of the games.

The more I thought about, the more to me at least I think Master Bounty Hunter is actually the saddest one for me. I mean we are introduced to a set of new characters that seem to have importance in the story only to be immediately killed off and glossed over without any regard or explanation. I genuinely did feel more of an impact when Henry’s group just died.

I understand the argument that they could’ve just been some background characters that are meant to die, but they are introduced in the path as if they were going to have some important only for that to immediately abruptly end.

With a character like Charles who is most prominent, when he died, at least we knew he would be alright because he appears in the other paths, but with the others they only appear in a singular path and aren’t even seen again, so that assurance that they are alright in the other paths don’t feel the same to me.

I do kinda dislike MBH for that, but ironically also like it too cause it got me into the Metal Gear series, but also getting into the series also made me dislike the path even more for how abruptly it ended.

Even with RHM defeated in that path it doesn’t feel as satisfying because he could probably just come back whenever.

The thing about Reg betraying Henry during The Betrayed was while part of it was because of Reg's selfishness, a chunk of it was because at that point in Henry's leadership, he hadn't done anything to prove he was a good leader (unlike in T4L and TK where he does show he is a good leader who cares for the clan) and Henry wanted Reg to deviate from heading to Dogobogo and rescue him from the Wall.

Reginald probably came to the conclusion that Henry wasn't a good leader and used the rescue to dispose of him. (just like he used Henry abandoning Ellie in TCW to swipe leadership back, a mix of selfishness and seeing Henry had not proved himself as leader)

I have a silly theory that Thomas and maybe Geoffrey were pretty loyal to Terrence, and that after Reg dethroned Terry that they were pretty upset with him (Thomas especially since his bio cards mention liking Henry's rule over Reg despite Henry at that point not doing much leadership wise) so when TCW came around Thomas saw his chance to get back at Reg (that explosion fail shows Thomas a little too happy to want to take down the Airship, though there is also the other silly idea of Thomas being a Gov spy feeding Galeforce info and siding with Henry to see the Toppat's downfall but that's just a silly thought)

HERE’S THE WEIRD THING, idk why i’m yelling, anyways.
I’ve done VH multiple times but for some reason it’s never made me extremely sad. Like it’s made me go ☹️ before but I’ve never actually cried or been extremely sad.
