i thought about that as well a while ago and the explanation i came up with is that in Good Gents they had a short time skip (rhm rescuing reg while henry, dave, thomas n geoffrey were preparing to ambush reg like maybe getting the guns from somewhere) while in Deuces they had no/barely any timeskip, with the gang immediately hopping into the pod while rhm was still bringing reg back to the airship

the closest escape pod was on Meeting Room, and it could take that much time to reach the place

and the Armory is close to the Cockpit

which not only is the only entrance to Cockpit, so Reginald and RHM must've passed by them, it could also alert other toppats

Charles escapes after arresting Ellie, while Henry sacrifices himself to save his friend after Ellie injured him badly.

The Toppat Station explodes, killing our righteous hero who saved his best friend.

Basically, it's Henry's version of Valiant Hero.

Realistically, in both of those cases he'd kill both Henry and himself along with a lot of other people either in the initial collision, or in the resulting fires (and the likely crash of the airship in ItA).

(The worst one by far is the "ultimate freeze" fail from CtM, which if it somehow happened IRL, would destroy the entire universe.)
