CtM is kinda it's own game in some aspects (bigger than all the previous games combined), but at the same time it needs the context of the previous games in order to make sense.
So it's kinda like a mixed bag of different coins if you get me. It's kinda it's own solo game in some small aspects, but it's also not in larger aspects
CtM helps wrap up everything else in the series that happened previously while keeping everything Canon - therefore it's gonna be part of a collection :)

Technically there is no final ending at all. Not only is every ending canon, but the multiverse correction actually sets up a closed time loop, as all of the chaos they're trying to fix by sending that package to Henry while he was in prison was ultimately the result of Henry escaping via what he pulled out of that package.

"Triple Threat".

The reasons are many, but I'll just give the main ones as:

1: two great friends to hang out with in Ellie and Charles;
2: long-term job as a high-level government agent and law enforcer;
3: no longer being hunted by various government operatives.

Because, plainly, the Toppats must be wanted by more than just the United States government. They've probably got Interpol after them, too, as well as various other governments that they've committed crimes in the territories of. So hanging out in space will only last them so long.

That said, I figure "Stickmin Space Resort" ends up pretty cushy in the end, too, what with being the owner and operator of a luxury resort space station. And probably having the wealth of whatever Toppat treasures were already loaded when he launched the station.

I can conterargue those comparing to Toppat King:
1: You'll get 4 or even 5 friends, not just Ellie, but also Reginald and RHM (possibly), as well as Thomas Chestershire and Geoffrey Plumb
2: He's one of the best leaders the Toppat clan ever had, so he's probably staying as leader for a very long amount of time. Plus, it fits with him being initially a simple bank robber.
3: The Toppats, after launching the space station, are imbatible and can land pretty much anywhere without even worrying of any government threats and such (not to mention Henry himself was the only one to deter the space station when it was already launched, either solo or with help)

I still think the Wall would pursue him regardless; but I feel like outside of PBT + CA, Henry switches vehicles which throws the Wall off the trail.

idk man, on PBT + CA Dimitri said to ignore the fight and focus on only the convicts, though it can be kinda different because it was a route where the Toppats and the Gov't were fighting themselves and Henry wasn't sided with anyone

(except the one Wall guard who has a vendetta against the Toppats and the one Toppat undercover guy)

IMO, TCW is worse than R from Henry's perspective. While he does die in R, he also had no real enemies at all at that point as the Toppats were gone, and both the government and the Wall believed he was dead and thus wouldn't pursue him. TCW on the other hand has Henry in a situation where he can't live a normal or happy life because not only are the government and the Wall after him, but most of the Toppats are also after him...
